This is a really well done visual novel with great art, voice actors, etc. I havent played many visual novel games but this is definitely the most well done one I have played. The story is a great continuation of the original where Okarin essentially stays in the original world line and develops an anxiety disorder. He really grows and develops as a character, and the new characters are also really cool. All I can really say is if you liked the original Steins:Gate anime or visual novel, youll love this just as much or more. And knowing that this is being adapted into an anime soon makes the experience that much better! Ive never gotten this into a visual novel before! If you like visual novels or just reading science fiction then I couldnt recommend this and its predecessor more highly. This takes place during the events for the first game close to the events of the true ending and describes the motivations for reaching steins gate and moving toward the new world line, is the best way I can describe it, but I javemt finished this yet. Por Jack em 29 de novembro de 2011 - Publicada na Amazon.com Compra verificada Ill start this review off by saying that I have only played one other game in the Super Monkey Ball series (Game Boy Advance version), so I do not have extensive knowledge of the series. This game comes in traditional packaging for the 3DS, and has a small pamphlet showing how things work and introducing characters of the Super Monkey Ball series. As for the game in the 3DS, the splash screen is not the traditional 3D revolving logo, but a image that jumps up and down. The game is very easy to get, but relatively hard to master. The characters have no distinct differences in gameplay, so any one you choose will work the same as the others. You go through simple levels while getting bananas to reach a goal. The games level designs are very simple, ranging from basic lines to intricate designs that make you think. The game doesnt ever get very difficult, though, so there was a lack of intricacy somewhere in the designs. Theres bumpers around the edges of the levels, so youre not going to die easily (if at all). This is probably the most annoying thing about the game- you almost never die, so theres no point in collecting the bananas in the stage (30 get you a life). Compared to my experience with the Game Boy Advance version, this game seems like it was designed for the 10-and-under crowd. The motion sensor is very boring, actually, and is nowhere near as precise as the joystick imput. I got this game on sale for $10 here on Amazon, so Im not going to complain too much. Audio quality is clear, and it is the most comfortable headset that Ive ever owned. The ear cups do a good job of canceling noise out as well. The microphone works great also, however a plastic piece broke off of it, leaving an exposed wire and a shaky, unstable mic. Take a look at the attached picture if you want to see exactly what Im talking about. I have contacted Kingston customer service asking them to replace the mic since this headset comes with a 2 year warranty and am currently waiting to hear back from them. I will update my review, and depending on how they handle this issue change my rating to either 1 or 5 stars. Update: Kingston replaced the mic for free under warranty. They sent it with 2 day shipping and didnt even require me to send the broken part back. For me as a live streamer on Twitch.tv I need two things for long gaming sessions headset wise: Comfort and Quality. These are by far the most comfortable headset I have ever worn. The design is sleek and it is WELL made. Most headsets nowadays come with leatherette ear cups and I CANT STAND IT. So I was happy to see the HyperX Cloud had replaceable Velour Ear Cushions. (the cloth ones) That was a huge plus for me. The soft leather band on the headset makes your skull feel like you are in HEAVEN. Too many headset makers dont care much for the pressure a headset puts on your noggin. HyperX does. I have had these 2 months prior to the recent release and not one sign of wear, and trust me I have a HUGE head. Now for sound. 53MM Drivers. This is better then most out there. And it is obvious in the sound. I play World of Warcraft and other MMOs, and let me tell you the sounds I can now hear that I couldnt before. The sound is so much clearer you wonder how the hell you tolerated your previous headset. The Aluminum build gives the Cloud a great shape and shows that HyperX cares about the longevity of their products. If you want comfort and quality sound this is your headset. And at $99? Yeah its worth it. I wanted to have the stereo version since my creative fatal1ty is now 2 yrs old. Just felt like having an update. Using the 3.5mm jacks for headphones and microphone i was able to utilize my onboard asus sound card with crystal sound 2.0 same as the creative, but sure its stereo - however when configured right you can pinpoint location pretty well. The HyperX Cloud is just as comfy as the Cloud II. Great build quality i feel with them. Love the white and black color - its looks clean and crisp and now also matches my new rig which is an artic white corsair 760t. Sound - it is a step up to the creative - good lows, mids n highs and good base. in games it is not too boomy or bassy but has just the right amount for the explosions in a game like battlefield 4 - but does not hinder you from pinpointing sound. I love it so far - just wore it for 8+ hrs straight gaming and didnt have a problem. If Kingston reads this review - please see the review i put in for the HyperX Cloud II and why i gave it a 2 stars. all the info is there. If you can make a Kingston HyperX Cloud III based on the constructive criticism i have for the Cloud II and have it to where you have the best of both worlds of the Original and the II esp in white or pink, i will definitely buy those when they drop. The sound quality is excellent, seems to be well made, (although I havent owned it for very long yet) and I have no problems with the microphone quality. I was pleasantly surprised at how many adapters HyperX included without additional cost. It came with multiple AUX extender cables (the ones with a mic and speaker jack) plus a 2-to-1 standard AUX adapter. One of the extender cables included a nice volume adjustment box. They even included a replacement pair of earphone pads, which were a soft cloth material. The ones that come on the headset are a leather-like material, so I guess HyperX wanted us to have the option. They also included a travel case for the headset. Would definitely recommend to a friend. Audio quality is clear, and it is the most comfortable headset that Ive ever owned. The ear cups do a good job of canceling noise out as well. The microphone works great also, however a plastic piece broke off of it, leaving an exposed wire and a shaky, unstable mic. Take a look at the attached picture if you want to see exactly what Im talking about. I have contacted Kingston customer service asking them to replace the mic since this headset comes with a 2 year warranty and am currently waiting to hear back from them. I will update my review, and depending on how they handle this issue change my rating to either 1 or 5 stars. Update: Kingston replaced the mic for free under warranty. They sent it with 2 day shipping and didnt even require me to send the broken part back. For me as a live streamer on Twitch.tv I need two things for long gaming sessions headset wise: Comfort and Quality. These are by far the most comfortable headset I have ever worn. The design is sleek and it is WELL made. Most headsets nowadays come with leatherette ear cups and I CANT STAND IT. So I was happy to see the HyperX Cloud had replaceable Velour Ear Cushions. (the cloth ones) That was a huge plus for me. The soft leather band on the headset makes your skull feel like you are in HEAVEN. Too many headset makers dont care much for the pressure a headset puts on your noggin. HyperX does. I have had these 2 months prior to the recent release and not one sign of wear, and trust me I have a HUGE head. Now for sound. 53MM Drivers. This is better then most out there. And it is obvious in the sound. I play World of Warcraft and other MMOs, and let me tell you the sounds I can now hear that I couldnt before. The sound is so much clearer you wonder how the hell you tolerated your previous headset. The Aluminum build gives the Cloud a great shape and shows that HyperX cares about the longevity of their products. If you want comfort and quality sound this is your headset. And at $99? Yeah its worth it. I wanted to have the stereo version since my creative fatal1ty is now 2 yrs old. Just felt like having an update. Using the 3.5mm jacks for headphones and microphone i was able to utilize my onboard asus sound card with crystal sound 2.0 same as the creative, but sure its stereo - however when configured right you can pinpoint location pretty well. The HyperX Cloud is just as comfy as the Cloud II. Great build quality i feel with them. Love the white and black color - its looks clean and crisp and now also matches my new rig which is an artic white corsair 760t. Sound - it is a step up to the creative - good lows, mids n highs and good base. in games it is not too boomy or bassy but has just the right amount for the explosions in a game like battlefield 4 - but does not hinder you from pinpointing sound. I love it so far - just wore it for 8+ hrs straight gaming and didnt have a problem. If Kingston reads this review - please see the review i put in for the HyperX Cloud II and why i gave it a 2 stars. all the info is there. If you can make a Kingston HyperX Cloud III based on the constructive criticism i have for the Cloud II and have it to where you have the best of both worlds of the Original and the II esp in white or pink, i will definitely buy those when they drop. The sound quality is excellent, seems to be well made, (although I havent owned it for very long yet) and I have no problems with the microphone quality. I was pleasantly surprised at how many adapters HyperX included without additional cost. It came with multiple AUX extender cables (the ones with a mic and speaker jack) plus a 2-to-1 standard AUX adapter. One of the extender cables included a nice volume adjustment box. They even included a replacement pair of earphone pads, which were a soft cloth material. The ones that come on the headset are a leather-like material, so I guess HyperX wanted us to have the option. They also included a travel case for the headset. Would definitely recommend to a friend. Sound quality is clear and there is a bit of bass with playback. Depending on the app you use for music playing these will auto connect and turn on with your music which is a plus for me. All apps do not support this feature. My only con is that the battery life is only three hours. No more, no less. I have owned these for over a year and they have not gotten a short in any of the buds. I use these everyday. THESE WILL NOT CONNECT WELL WITH IPHONES. The little door that protects the charge port did break off but it hasnt disrupted charging. I did change out the smallest ear bud caps with smaller ones so they dont fall out while using. The buds come with a set of three to choose from but even the smallest was not small enough. I just went a bought a cheap pair of wired buds to get replacement caps which work fine. I carry them in a contact lens container when not in use so I dont mar the wire up. They also do a great job of blocking out sounds around the house (like if your kids are watching t.v., for example) so you can hear your music or audio book. For me, the best thing about these headphones is when I get a phone call from friends and family who love to talk on the phone. I put these blue-tooth ear buds on, freeing up both hands, and can accomplish chores (even back yard gardening) while having a conversation! I cant recall how long Ive had them, been over a year so for the price, Im not complaining. The only thing that kind of annoyed me is the one side is heavier due to the control pod so it always slides and pulls to the side. They give you a collar clip that should stop that but it doesnt grip the cord well enough to work. I ended up wrapping some tape around the cord until the clip fit nice and snug and never had an issue after that. The carbon fiber detail really adds a nice finish. Its nice slim design slides right into my pocket and I hardly know its there. Unfortunately, I dropped my phone and there was no damage to the phone. It was a tile surface so luckily there were no marks or scratches left on the screen. Good access to the fingerprint scanner and the stylus. I havent dropped my phone yet (hoping not to!), but I had a Spigen on my previous phone (a Galaxy S7 Edge) which had a hairline crack in it before I put the Spigen case on it. It wont protect the screen or the device in general from big drops on concrete. If thats what you need why are you looking bat this? There are 2 other companies you should be looking at (OtterBox and UAG). That said this adds little weight, a much more secure grip, prevents it from sliding literally everywhere and prevents it from some basic scuffs and scratches (like from keys, lighters, that switch blade you carry in shady neighborhoods) in a super low price range. It does have a few downsides but I think that for the price point it is an excellent value. Heres the reasons why: --> it has a decent set of drivers which give it great sound quality, making it great for music and game audio --> noise cancelling mic (cuts out all the white noise and garbage sound) --> its has integrated Dolby Pro Logic, which simulates 5.1 and 7.1 surround from a standard stereo (2 speaker) stream --> its comfy, with decent padding on the ear cups and head band you can wear it for hours --> the cup design helps to reduce outside noise (my GF has snuck up on me more than a couple of times while I wore these) --> it is very affordable as gaming headsets go (just over $40 after tax and shipping) However there are a few downsides: --> the adapter is USB and not the standard 3.5mm, which means you cannot use it on any consoles or (most) other devices; only computers. --> the ear cups tend to swivel around a lot (especially if you move your head a lot) --> the head band doesnt always stay put (again only if youre moving your head a lot) In general the features outweigh the downsides and for the price you cant beat it. Mic is clear and crisp and is definitely leagues better than any built in laptop mic and the price alone is worth it for that. The headphones themselves are great, and very loud. They do sometimes get uncomfortable if you wear them for too long, which is absolutely a problem if youre going to be playing games for extended durations, and if youre buying these youre probably in that crowd. They look and feel great, and I usually dont say that about gamer gear because the designs of these peripherals are usually very much not subtle at all, but even though the red definitely makes it clear this is branded towards gamers, its not the kind of ridiculous neon you might see on other headsets, which is a plus for me personally. Overall though the price alone makes this worthwhile, and my experience with them has been great, albeit they might be fatiguing to wear after a certain point. Por Manuel M. em 2 de novembro de 2017 - Publicada na Amazon.com Compra verificada Ok, so the main issue with this particular headset is its construction... the sound is good (not as good as i expected but that was my fault for letting the brand name influence my purchase) but the headset itself is poorly constructed... out from the box the 3.5 to 2.5 mm jack adapter was defective, you have to wiggle it so you can get audio on both sides, one week in using it started loosing sound on the right side and you had to wiggle it around so it would start working on both sides but soon after it would go mute on the right side again... when inspected, the volume control on the cable had the wires badly soldered so they where just coming loose, after fixxing it twice, i just cutted out the volume control and just entangled the wires together and, after that, while fixxing the heaset on my head one of the cups snapped... when i checked to see if i could glue it together, to my surprise, i found that all that held it together was a flimsy plastic stick... this headset is not worthy of the brand or the price, avoid. That is dissapointing because I was looking for an upgrade when my last headset (plantronics) did the same thing, after a year and a half. UPDATE: Yeah so I paid $15 in 5 day shipping it to corsair for a replacement. I was very satisfied with the customer service (all online so I didnt have to talk to anyone) and they got shipped it back to me in a day...but also using 5 day shipping. After 2 weeks I finally had gotten it back and they had ended up sending a new set. I was very happy cause I liked the sound and feel the only problem was the failure. It has since been a month and a half later and now it has broken again because of the wire. Last time it disconnected at the ear piece but this time it was at the volume control. Because it lasted the about the same amount of time and the same way I have concluded that the headset is not making sure the wires dont break away. Either way I am not paying the minimum of $15 for shipping it again, making the total payed for this headset $90. I bought a pair of Sony Bluetooth headphones almost two years ago for my now twelve year old daughter, and I was so impressed with them that I decided to buy this pair after checking out all of the positive reviews. Well, the majority of reviews were spot-on. These things put out very good sound and I was most happy to hear that the bass was not overpowering. (That was my biggest fear before purchase). The battery life on these headphones is excellent, as well as the charging time. The fit is superb. Although they may be marketed as "on ear", they are nearly "over the ear" phones, and, very comfortable I might add. The cans arent too big and they arent too small....they are just right. (Funny, where have I heard that before?) They have virtually no sound leakage either (yes, sounds weird, but really, the person on the side of you wont hear all of your jam), which is especially good for those long airplane flights or bus rides. I think these are the best bluetooth headphones for 100 bucks. Sony did a great job on these. Pros: 30 hours battery Nice design NFC pairing (just hold your phone to the NFC sign and it will automatically connect to them every time, even if the headphones are off) Great bluetooth range (can walk around my apartment and the connection does not suffer anywhere) They sound really good. Better than my beats headphones. No cons for me. Now if you compare them to the XB950s there are some differences. I believe they both have their pros and cons. The XB650s have these things over the XB950s: Better design. These are much smaller and they dont look like huge earmuffs like the 950s. 30 hours battery life compared to the 20 hours on the XB950s. Lighter in weight compared to the XB950s. These actually tell you the battery level compared to the XB950s which you have to look at confusing light pulses. Better balanced sound and still has a lot of bass. The XB950s have these things over the XB650s: It has an AUX port if you decide not to use bluetooth. The XB650s do not have an AUX port. It has an "extra bass" button and the XB650s do not. Sound is a tiny bit louder than the XB650s. Overall I think the XB650s are better. The aux port that the 950s have is not a big deal to me because my laptop and phone have bluetooth. Also, the aux port on the 950s only work with that specific aux cable that it comes with. The headphones design makes it so that other aux cables will not be able to fit in the slot. The Extra bass boost button on the 950s are also not a big deal to me. The 950s without the bass boost already sound really bass heavy and the button is just overkill. And I like bass. I mostly listen to hiphop too so its not like I am a person listening to classical music. I do like that the 950s are a little bit louder. But its not a real big difference and definitely not enough of a difference for me to choose the 950s over the 650s. I would say that the 650s are bass heavy headphones and the 950s are a little bit too much even without the bass boost on. Overall, the smaller look, the longer battery life, the more balanced sound are all reasons why I chose the 650s over the 950s. And the 650s are 98 bucks right now on amazon. Definitely worth the money. Ive had the 950s for since around Christmas so about 5 months and they have been my main headphones until now that I got the 650s. My wife has a pair of the 950s that I really liked (bass is ridiculous but better to have too much and EQ it out). Unfortunately the 950s cost $200 and I just didnt feel like going there for my sometimes-y listening. I saw these for $130 and while still above what I wanted to spend, they had a pair at the store in a listening kiosk and I was blown away. They actually sounded better balanced than the 950s (which were also in the kiosk) yet still churned out tons of bass. Here are my explained thoughts: Build Quality (B): "Very" lightweight with a metal band connecting the cans via a sandwich of generic plastic that have decent adjustability. The cups can swivel 180 deg so you can lay them around your neck in a little more comfort or store them flat. They dont feel expensive but dont look cheap. I got black cause Im not flashy but saw the blue and red and they certainly show off some of the design elements better. Fit, Comfort, Operation (A): I usually prefer over-the-ear headphones but these on-the-ear phones do an amazing job of creating a seal that keeps bleed in or out very low. They are very lightweight so fatigue should not be an issue and theres no pressure points on the ears or on the top of the head. The controls are all on the right cup and work smoothly and provide great feedback. Uses standard micro USB for charging. This set does not have a wired option like the 950. I have not run the battery down as I charge it every other night I use it and I probably never will if it gets even close to the 30 hours of battery advertised. Sound (A): The most important part. There is a strong V profile to all these "ExtraBass" headsets and some people may be bothered by this colored sound but it does a good job of presenting you good amounts of everything from low to high. The bass is strong but not silly like the 950s are capable of. I did EQ everything from 125Hz down by -3db to get to my taste. Highs and mids are crisp and clean and overall reproduction should sound great most ears. Time will tell how well they hold up but the sound is amazing, comfort is high and the price (at least for me) was very reasonable. I did not purchase from Amazon (had store credit for a return). The scroll lock key is used to turn the backlight key on and off so if you use that key in applications well who knows what to do. The lettering on the keys (without backlight on) is hard to read even in good light, so if you hunt and peck type egads! I am sorta a type by feel borderline hunt and peck and it is rough so far after 7 days usage. There is a bit of an edge you can feel into your palm from the back edge of the mouse, nothing too bad but I feel it...rounded edge would have fixed that. The mouse has stayed backlit for a couple days, turned off other times. Now on to the pros...build quality is great for the money, heavy, pretty solid. The backlight looks really good to me, even coverage maybe could be brighter. The mouse looks very cool lit up. Price. The feel of the keys is quite nice in a medium softness but with clicks and clacks sound. This gets stars for even having backlight at this price. I am going to use it in my home studio and need the backlight for hunt and peck typing in low light. I have Corsair K70 keyboards and M65 and M95 mice that do not have the annoying turn on backlight thingie but they were 4 to 5 times more expensive. Not even a week has past and the mouse wheel is starting to squeak quite noticeably... I did not find any use for the playback media buttons since it does not work with anything beyond using VLC or Windows Media Player. Not long after the ctrl key felt off to me when I pressed it, but was easily fixed by popping the key back in. Based on my experience, its an okay product and I appreciate the fact that it has led since it helps me see what keys Im pressing at night. The build quality is decent enough besides the minor issues Ive stated above. I do not like the button placement for the back/forward page on the mouse because it makes it rather easy to accidentally click those buttons when using the mouse. I find it inconvenient that for some applications the led will shut off and I would have to reactivate it by clicking the screen lock key The dpi settings were a nice addition and I would have liked to see some included software however that may be asking too much... Its a solid pair, both work and look great and feel solid and I didnt have to think twice about the price which is always great. BUT, after about a month now, the quality is unfortunately showing through and I dont think I can strongly recommend this package for anyone who plans to do at least a moderate amount of gaming with them. Issues: -The keyboard has no onboard memory and the light has to be manually turned on each time, which isnt a huge deal except the button to power on the LEDs is also the scroll lock button for some strange reason. So this specifically effects working in spreadsheets for me, which I do on a regular basis, and I have to constantly turn the lights off and back on to be able to use the arrow keys to move around objects on screen, which is really annoying. -The LEDs on the keyboard look great, its very solid and a good color. However, the lights are behind the keys instead of actually inside each one, which means the light is hard to see through the key labels unless youre looking straight down. This isnt usually an issue on keyboards except the labels on the keys arent white so if the LED is off or you arent looking straight down at them youre basically looking at black keys and cant clearly see any of them. -The above issue wouldnt be a real issue if it wasnt for the lack of angle provided by the feet underneath the keyboard, flipping them out practically doesnt lift the keyboard at all so the keyboard is basically always just laying flat. -The mouse, unlike the keyboard for some reason, keeps its LED lights on all the time, even when the PC is shut down. Its not a serious issue, but it seems an odd design choice to have the mouse lights always on but the keyboard lights have to manually be turned back on on power up. -The last issue has only recently came up. Like I mentioned above Ive now had the product for close to a month, and the mouse scroll wheel has already started to squeak quite a bit from time to time unless scrolling very quickly. I will have to say that the keys on the keyboard could have a lot shorter throw(distance from where your finger press the key and the key reaches the end of its stroke). I fee that you have to press the keep to far down. I know some people may prefer this feel. The mouse feels well built and durable. This combo is a great combo for the home office. I really like the placement and organization of the multimedia keys also. The scroll lock key is used to turn the backlight key on and off so if you use that key in applications well who knows what to do. The lettering on the keys (without backlight on) is hard to read even in good light, so if you hunt and peck type egads! I am sorta a type by feel borderline hunt and peck and it is rough so far after 7 days usage. There is a bit of an edge you can feel into your palm from the back edge of the mouse, nothing too bad but I feel it...rounded edge would have fixed that. The mouse has stayed backlit for a couple days, turned off other times. Now on to the pros...build quality is great for the money, heavy, pretty solid. The backlight looks really good to me, even coverage maybe could be brighter. The mouse looks very cool lit up. Price. The feel of the keys is quite nice in a medium softness but with clicks and clacks sound. This gets stars for even having backlight at this price. I am going to use it in my home studio and need the backlight for hunt and peck typing in low light. I have Corsair K70 keyboards and M65 and M95 mice that do not have the annoying turn on backlight thingie but they were 4 to 5 times more expensive. Not even a week has past and the mouse wheel is starting to squeak quite noticeably... I did not find any use for the playback media buttons since it does not work with anything beyond using VLC or Windows Media Player. Not long after the ctrl key felt off to me when I pressed it, but was easily fixed by popping the key back in. Based on my experience, its an okay product and I appreciate the fact that it has led since it helps me see what keys Im pressing at night. The build quality is decent enough besides the minor issues Ive stated above. I do not like the button placement for the back/forward page on the mouse because it makes it rather easy to accidentally click those buttons when using the mouse. I find it inconvenient that for some applications the led will shut off and I would have to reactivate it by clicking the screen lock key The dpi settings were a nice addition and I would have liked to see some included software however that may be asking too much... Anyway, I would recommend this combo if youre looking for cheap mouse and keyboard combo with led. I would like to note, compared to what Im used to the keyboard itself has a bit of weight to it. Its a solid pair, both work and look great and feel solid and I didnt have to think twice about the price which is always great. BUT, after about a month now, the quality is unfortunately showing through and I dont think I can strongly recommend this package for anyone who plans to do at least a moderate amount of gaming with them. Issues: -The keyboard has no onboard memory and the light has to be manually turned on each time, which isnt a huge deal except the button to power on the LEDs is also the scroll lock button for some strange reason. So this specifically effects working in spreadsheets for me, which I do on a regular basis, and I have to constantly turn the lights off and back on to be able to use the arrow keys to move around objects on screen, which is really annoying. -The LEDs on the keyboard look great, its very solid and a good color. However, the lights are behind the keys instead of actually inside each one, which means the light is hard to see through the key labels unless youre looking straight down. This isnt usually an issue on keyboards except the labels on the keys arent white so if the LED is off or you arent looking straight down at them youre basically looking at black keys and cant clearly see any of them. -The above issue wouldnt be a real issue if it wasnt for the lack of angle provided by the feet underneath the keyboard, flipping them out practically doesnt lift the keyboard at all so the keyboard is basically always just laying flat. -The mouse, unlike the keyboard for some reason, keeps its LED lights on all the time, even when the PC is shut down. Its not a serious issue, but it seems an odd design choice to have the mouse lights always on but the keyboard lights have to manually be turned back on on power up. -The last issue has only recently came up. Like I mentioned above Ive now had the product for close to a month, and the mouse scroll wheel has already started to squeak quite a bit from time to time unless scrolling very quickly. The game looks fantastic, controls are spot on, and there is variety in vehicle selection to keep things lively. Having been a huge fan of Dirt 2, I was pretty excited to get my hands on a copy of Dirt 3. Their claim that they are returning to their rally roots only heightened this excitement. I was confused by the game cover, but I also realize they need to turn a profit and get as many people to buy their game as possible, so in my mind they were just trying to reach out to people who do not find WRC style-racing their cup of tea. In my mind, a rally oriented game should have you spending most of your time pretty much raising against the clock and occasionally seeing other racers on the track. I didnt care much for the X-games feel of Dirt2, but Dirt 3 doesnt feel all that different to me. A lot of time and effort was put into the Gymkhana events and X-Game events are still there. There are six main race modes: rally- point to point racing where you have a co-driver helping you navigate to the finish line. trailblazer- point to point racing where no co-driver assists you and faster vehicles are available. head2head- You are on a track and you race another driver (with no contact possible). Landrush- You race around a track in either trucks or buggies (full contact). RallyCross- You race around a track in cars (full contact). Gymkhana- You perform "tricks" to gain points to beat the competition. To me, only the first two count as rally but a fair amount of time is given to each racing mode. Head2head, Landrush, and rallycross offer a nice variety to the mix and keep things fresh. And Gymkhana....well Im not sure how that fits in there. Many people are thrilled to have it, but I saw it as a nuisance. You perform the same tricks over and over and over again. Basically you need to master drifting and driving around in a circle without falling asleep (think NASCAR, but a MUCH tighter circle). But my biggest gripe about the game have to do with DLC. At the time of this review the game has been out for less than a month and content was just released that you need to pay for. This is no secret, one glance at the trophy list reveals that at this point there will be additional content to come. This does not bother me. What DOES bother me as that when you play the game you are constantly reminded that you do not have access to all the vehicles. I will need to go the PSN store to download what ends up being five cars for six dollars. This has left me with the impression that I do not have a complete game. I bought the game at full price, but I did not get the full product. I understand having additional content, as well as the VIP Pass, but do I need to be reminded of it every single time I want to race? This has left me with a sour taste in my mouth for this game. I am sure many people have no problems with this, but consider what your garage will look like when all DLC content is out (and especially if you ended up buying the game used and do not want to buy the VIP Pass). As of now I have no plans of buying the DLC. I hate to be a Negative Nancy, but I have seen only positive reviews, and the 1-star reviews for this game on Amazon are pretty much non-reviews. I just feel like a few things should be highlighted to give a broader picture of what the game has in store for those who buy it. For many, these issues will not apply. Dirt 3 (despite all of this complaining) is still a great game, and in terms of off-road racing I have not played anything that compares to it with the exception of Dirt 2. Now it has offline two player races and can have a single race without entering career mode!!!!!!!, the Gymkhana parks are very fun to play, you can spend lots of hours just trying to do the stunts asked in just one park, and I think there are like 3. If you like cars and racing, this IS THE GAME!. When GT5 came out I was going to buy it, but it was a big deception, you cant even get out of track cause youll hit an invisible shield (what a shame) and dirt look very bad, it disappears when you go through it. On the other hand in this game I have found no flaws. You can even upload your replays to youtube, which may take some time but it worth it. You get Rally, Rally Cross, Land Rush, Trail Blazing, Gymkhana, Baja. On asphalt, dirt and snow. Pros: Great Graphics, single race, offline multiplayer (2), physics, dirt looks, snow tracks, flash backs, you can choose between old or new cars even 60s (60s,70s,80s,90s) on some kind of races. Cons: Not so real when landing a jump(this may not seem as a con for everybody), some times the game crashes when using flash backs continuously (just like 2 times) and some times you really need to use the flashback. Dirt3 is a very fundamentally sound racer/rally game. You begin the career mode with some simple rallies and rally-cross events. As you progress the events progress in some degree of difficulty. Beginning rally stages are short with few tricky turns and gradually the difficulty of the rally stages gets harder. Some of the later hill climb events can be challenging with the extremely quick dedicated hill climb vehicles. The rally-cross events are a lot of fun as you go fender to fender with other rally-Xers. The buggy rally-cross events were especially challenging for me. Each of the vehicle and especially vehicle classes are distinct with different types of vehicles handling differently. Later Gymkhana events are introduced as is drifting. The Gymkhana events are a great change of pace from the other more traditional "rally" fare and are fun. Doing doughnuts around pylons and taking out targets in a 4 wheel drift is very satisfying and challenging. The Gymkhana events are not easy. Overall, this is a great racing/rally game and I would highly recommend it.
