I bought a pair of Sony Bluetooth headphones almost two years ago for my now twelve year old daughter, and I was so impressed with them that I decided to buy this pair after checking out all of the positive reviews. Well, the majority of reviews were spot-on. These things put out very good sound and I was most happy to hear that the bass was not overpowering. (That was my biggest fear before purchase). The battery life on these headphones is excellent, as well as the charging time. The fit is superb. Although they may be marketed as "on ear", they are nearly "over the ear" phones, and, very comfortable I might add. The cans arent too big and they arent too small....they are just right. (Funny, where have I heard that before?) They have virtually no sound leakage either (yes, sounds weird, but really, the person on the side of you wont hear all of your jam), which is especially good for those long airplane flights or bus rides. And last but not least, the price is right. At under one hundred dollars they simply cant be Beat(s). (No pun intended) Do yourself a favor,....stop racking your brain reading all these reviews, and buy these very good sounding, stylish, easy to use, easy to connect-to-Bluetooth, Bluetooth headphones. I think these are the best bluetooth headphones for 100 bucks. Sony did a great job on these. Pros: 30 hours battery Nice design NFC pairing (just hold your phone to the NFC sign and it will automatically connect to them every time, even if the headphones are off) Great bluetooth range (can walk around my apartment and the connection does not suffer anywhere) They sound really good. Better than my beats headphones. No cons for me. Now if you compare them to the XB950s there are some differences. I believe they both have their pros and cons. The XB650s have these things over the XB950s: Better design. These are much smaller and they dont look like huge earmuffs like the 950s. 30 hours battery life compared to the 20 hours on the XB950s. Lighter in weight compared to the XB950s. These actually tell you the battery level compared to the XB950s which you have to look at confusing light pulses. Better balanced sound and still has a lot of bass. The XB950s have these things over the XB650s: It has an AUX port if you decide not to use bluetooth. The XB650s do not have an AUX port. It has an "extra bass" button and the XB650s do not. Sound is a tiny bit louder than the XB650s. Overall I think the XB650s are better. The aux port that the 950s have is not a big deal to me because my laptop and phone have bluetooth. Also, the aux port on the 950s only work with that specific aux cable that it comes with. The headphones design makes it so that other aux cables will not be able to fit in the slot. The Extra bass boost button on the 950s are also not a big deal to me. The 950s without the bass boost already sound really bass heavy and the button is just overkill. And I like bass. I mostly listen to hiphop too so its not like I am a person listening to classical music. I do like that the 950s are a little bit louder. But its not a real big difference and definitely not enough of a difference for me to choose the 950s over the 650s. I would say that the 650s are bass heavy headphones and the 950s are a little bit too much even without the bass boost on. Overall, the smaller look, the longer battery life, the more balanced sound are all reasons why I chose the 650s over the 950s. And the 650s are 98 bucks right now on amazon. Definitely worth the money. Ive had the 950s for since around Christmas so about 5 months and they have been my main headphones until now that I got the 650s. I just really did not like how the 950s look like huge earmuffs on your head. They also felt heavy while wearing them. The 650s took care of these issues and are now my go to headphones. My wife has a pair of the 950s that I really liked (bass is ridiculous but better to have too much and EQ it out). Unfortunately the 950s cost $200 and I just didnt feel like going there for my sometimes-y listening. I saw these for $130 and while still above what I wanted to spend, they had a pair at the store in a listening kiosk and I was blown away. They actually sounded better balanced than the 950s (which were also in the kiosk) yet still churned out tons of bass. Here are my explained thoughts: Build Quality (B): "Very" lightweight with a metal band connecting the cans via a sandwich of generic plastic that have decent adjustability. The cups can swivel 180 deg so you can lay them around your neck in a little more comfort or store them flat. They dont feel expensive but dont look cheap. I got black cause Im not flashy but saw the blue and red and they certainly show off some of the design elements better. Fit, Comfort, Operation (A): I usually prefer over-the-ear headphones but these on-the-ear phones do an amazing job of creating a seal that keeps bleed in or out very low. They are very lightweight so fatigue should not be an issue and theres no pressure points on the ears or on the top of the head. The controls are all on the right cup and work smoothly and provide great feedback. Uses standard micro USB for charging. This set does not have a wired option like the 950. I have not run the battery down as I charge it every other night I use it and I probably never will if it gets even close to the 30 hours of battery advertised. Sound (A): The most important part. There is a strong V profile to all these "ExtraBass" headsets and some people may be bothered by this colored sound but it does a good job of presenting you good amounts of everything from low to high. The bass is strong but not silly like the 950s are capable of. I did EQ everything from 125Hz down by -3db to get to my taste. Highs and mids are crisp and clean and overall reproduction should sound great most ears. Time will tell how well they hold up but the sound is amazing, comfort is high and the price (at least for me) was very reasonable. I did not purchase from Amazon (had store credit for a return). Tough, but fun as can be. Too bad about the install issues I listed in the original review. This woulda been a 4 or 5 star rating for the campaign play. Original review: I needed to get this review up right away to hopefully save others great frustration. Before you put the disc in your PS3 for the first time, disconnect from the Internet and DO NOT do the update. Only after the game has been installed should you attempt any updates. If you attempt to do the update right from the start along with the initial instal (as the pop up screen will ask you to do upon initial start-up) you may run into some very severe issues. I did as have many others. Google it. It can cause the game to not play and freeze on a black screen and then take several hours to delete the bad patch. So, just remember to disconnect from the web first. Then install the game. Then reconnect to the web and do any updates. You will be glad you did. If you did not have this problem, good for you. I did and so did many others. Like I said, google it. I have been playing the game for a couple of hours now. About half as much time as it took to deal with the install issues. Game seems fine. I dont imagine it sucking. However, it can never get better than 3 stars from me given the terrible software issue upon install. It was just rediculous. Note too that if you already did the update that causes the freezing and are trying to delete it, it can take over 2 hours to delete. I used to be really into the Xbox 360 and got in PS3 pretty late so I missed a lot of PS3 games when they first came out. After recently playing resistance 3 let me just say WOW! Where to begin? Ill split it into three sections. Here we go. Story: Even though you dont have to play the first two resistance games to know whats going on is recommend it. The story I thought was pretty good. I liked the characters and there were some parts where the story had me like aw why did that happen? Haha it had me really into it. Its fairly long too. I like to take some breaks when playin a game. I think it took me three days to finish up the single player story. Overall I thought it was good. Graphics: The graphics are pretty damn good in resistance 3. Id say its probably one of the best looking games on the PS3. Right next to uncharted games and kill zone 2 and 3. Gameplay: Gameplay is great. I do enjoy first person shooters. Resistance 3 has you in some pretty good gun fights. There are moments when youll be fighting alone. Others times youll be up against giant monsters in boss fights. You can also upgrade weapons you use in the game which is pretty cool. Verdict: Resistance 3 is a damn good game. I honestly regret not play this one back in the day. If you own a PS3 and havent played resistance 3 then shoot get out there and grab a copy. Its a lot of fun. Also if youre like me and have become spoiled with your character being able to regenerate from injuries without the aid of a health pack then expect some annoyance as this game is like that. You dont have the luxury of a self regenerating character and while it takes some massive damage to finish your character off unless you can find some health packs on every corner you have to be careful. Still the game is incredible and if you already have the first or second game then this is a definite must to add to your PS3 game library. The first one had clunky controls while 2 it was just difficult and stressful. 3 takes place after 2. The protagonist from 2 is killed from the new protagonist of 3. As for the story driven I feel that 2 was slightly more interesting although 3 has its good qualities of a story. The graphics are better than the past two like a better update. The guns get some sort of upgrade after using them a lot. I cant go full in the games story details but its pretty great. Like most campaigns this one is fairly shorter than the other 2 but its still fun overall even a second gameplay. Capelli has to trek cross-country to New York in order to destroy a gigantic terraforming machine before it drops the temperature so low that the planet can no longer sustain human life. His journey takes you to a number of great locals, the variety of which is one of the best aspects of the game. You start in a rundown, bleak dust bowl of a village with few survivors. Soon youre fighting off hordes of enemies while traveling on a tug boat down a creepy, mist-covered river. Later youre trying to survive being captured by a bunch of crazed escaped inmates in a decrepit prison. Theres even a thrilling train sequence that reminded me of "Uncharted 2," and a nightmarish town that reminded me of Ravenholm from "Half-Life 2." The cool weapons are the other key to "R3s" success; all of them level up through use and can be accessed via the weapon wheel as in "R:FoM," replacing only holding 2 at a time as in "R2." One new weapon lets you freeze enemies solid and then shatter them into pieces. Another makes green bubbly spores develop and then explode. There was online competitive and co-op multiplayer, but the servers were shut off in April of 2014. However, I am not disappointed. This case is fantastic. Ive owned tons of cases, and I needed a sturdy, but not insanely bulky/heavy *cough cough* Otterbox *cough*. The case doesnt feel cheap, it feels nicely made, and its SLIM! It doesnt add that much weight/size to my atheistically pleasing shiny slim iPhone 5. This case doesnt let down. Its not silicone, (thank goodness) its a high strength plastic/rubber. I doesnt slide off the phone Easily. It grips the phone very nicely. The corners are reinforced with rubber bumpers, they can also be exchanged for different colors, which is a nice feature. (Each color case comes with different color bumpers. Mine came with orange, pink, white, and black). The case it comes in says it can withstand drops of up to 5ft. This is fine for an average user like me who doesnt need an industrial strength case for my iPhone 5. So if you are looking for a QUALITY made case with barely any bulk, buy this! The case is lightly textured, so it wont slip from your hand. The changeable corners give it the ability to personalize your case based on your mood, the corners are slightly thicker than the rest of the case, providing that protection in case it is dropped face down or something (I havent dropped mine, but I looks like it would never even come close to hitting my screen). Doesnt add bulk or much weight to the phone. Orange protective cases have been hard to find, this one is a keeper! Cons: The button on the top is a bit hard to press, but Im getting used to it. And the more I use it the easier it seems to get to push. I have noticed that it is peeling up my screen protector a bit in the corners. I think thats because the case is so snug fitting, but I had a cheap screen protector that was peeling before, so I cant really complain. This one seems to protect pretty well, but its not quite as rugged as my other case, and its more slick. Its not hard plastic, not soft gooey silicone but somewhere in between. More like a semi rigid high quality rubber/silicone not sure. What makes this case dynamic is its super slim construction and the bumper sections on the corners which have cushiony soft inserts. The corners themselves are slightly bubbled and are actually a void space meaning the edges of your phone do not touch the inside outer corners of this case...great design. I have dropped my iphone 5 a few times in the driveway without damaging the phone or the case. I have had this case on for a long time now and it has no signs of wear and has held its original form. So this should be considered an "extended use" review. Looking forward to the new iphone 6 to become available and Ballastics case for that, granted its of similar design. To compare, I started with the Otterbox Defender quality case but to bulky, then tried the Otterbox commuter, again quality case but hard slippery plastic and bulky. I also like the fact I can put my phone in my semi tight jean front pocket and hop in my car without feeling like a friggin brick is in there. I had some hesitations about it when I first pulled it out of the box as some of the keys were just floating about but nothing was actually broken. No extra drivers necessary on install, just plug and play. My biggest annoyance is the backlight not defaulting to “on” and scroll lock always has to be enabled to keep the lights up but for basic gaming and web browsing this isn’t a terrible unit. I like the mecha membrane action and feel. The keys are not too far apart but still spaced enough to provide depth. The mouse is a solid mouse. Wish I could reprogram the side keys to not change web pages. I really like the placement and organization of the multimedia keys also. The scroll lock key is used to turn the backlight key on and off so if you use that key in applications well who knows what to do. The lettering on the keys (without backlight on) is hard to read even in good light, so if you hunt and peck type egads! I am sorta a type by feel borderline hunt and peck and it is rough so far after 7 days usage. There is a bit of an edge you can feel into your palm from the back edge of the mouse, nothing too bad but I feel it...rounded edge would have fixed that. The mouse has stayed backlit for a couple days, turned off other times. Now on to the pros...build quality is great for the money, heavy, pretty solid. The backlight looks really good to me, even coverage maybe could be brighter. The mouse looks very cool lit up. Price. The feel of the keys is quite nice in a medium softness but with clicks and clacks sound. This gets stars for even having backlight at this price. I am going to use it in my home studio and need the backlight for hunt and peck typing in low light. I have Corsair K70 keyboards and M65 and M95 mice that do not have the annoying turn on backlight thingie but they were 4 to 5 times more expensive. Not even a week has past and the mouse wheel is starting to squeak quite noticeably... I did not find any use for the playback media buttons since it does not work with anything beyond using VLC or Windows Media Player. Not long after the ctrl key felt off to me when I pressed it, but was easily fixed by popping the key back in. Based on my experience, its an okay product and I appreciate the fact that it has led since it helps me see what keys Im pressing at night. The build quality is decent enough besides the minor issues Ive stated above. I do not like the button placement for the back/forward page on the mouse because it makes it rather easy to accidentally click those buttons when using the mouse. I find it inconvenient that for some applications the led will shut off and I would have to reactivate it by clicking the screen lock key The dpi settings were a nice addition and I would have liked to see some included software however that may be asking too much... Anyway, I would recommend this combo if youre looking for cheap mouse and keyboard combo with led. I would like to note, compared to what Im used to the keyboard itself has a bit of weight to it. Its a solid pair, both work and look great and feel solid and I didnt have to think twice about the price which is always great. BUT, after about a month now, the quality is unfortunately showing through and I dont think I can strongly recommend this package for anyone who plans to do at least a moderate amount of gaming with them. Issues: -The keyboard has no onboard memory and the light has to be manually turned on each time, which isnt a huge deal except the button to power on the LEDs is also the scroll lock button for some strange reason. So this specifically effects working in spreadsheets for me, which I do on a regular basis, and I have to constantly turn the lights off and back on to be able to use the arrow keys to move around objects on screen, which is really annoying. -The LEDs on the keyboard look great, its very solid and a good color. However, the lights are behind the keys instead of actually inside each one, which means the light is hard to see through the key labels unless youre looking straight down. This isnt usually an issue on keyboards except the labels on the keys arent white so if the LED is off or you arent looking straight down at them youre basically looking at black keys and cant clearly see any of them. -The above issue wouldnt be a real issue if it wasnt for the lack of angle provided by the feet underneath the keyboard, flipping them out practically doesnt lift the keyboard at all so the keyboard is basically always just laying flat. -The mouse, unlike the keyboard for some reason, keeps its LED lights on all the time, even when the PC is shut down. Its not a serious issue, but it seems an odd design choice to have the mouse lights always on but the keyboard lights have to manually be turned back on on power up. -The last issue has only recently came up. Like I mentioned above Ive now had the product for close to a month, and the mouse scroll wheel has already started to squeak quite a bit from time to time unless scrolling very quickly. The mouse has stayed backlit for a couple days, turned off other times. Now on to the pros...build quality is great for the money, heavy, pretty solid. The backlight looks really good to me, even coverage maybe could be brighter. The mouse looks very cool lit up. Price. The feel of the keys is quite nice in a medium softness but with clicks and clacks sound. This gets stars for even having backlight at this price. I am going to use it in my home studio and need the backlight for hunt and peck typing in low light. I have Corsair K70 keyboards and M65 and M95 mice that do not have the annoying turn on backlight thingie but they were 4 to 5 times more expensive. Not even a week has past and the mouse wheel is starting to squeak quite noticeably... I did not find any use for the playback media buttons since it does not work with anything beyond using VLC or Windows Media Player. Not long after the ctrl key felt off to me when I pressed it, but was easily fixed by popping the key back in. Based on my experience, its an okay product and I appreciate the fact that it has led since it helps me see what keys Im pressing at night. The build quality is decent enough besides the minor issues Ive stated above. I do not like the button placement for the back/forward page on the mouse because it makes it rather easy to accidentally click those buttons when using the mouse. I find it inconvenient that for some applications the led will shut off and I would have to reactivate it by clicking the screen lock key The dpi settings were a nice addition and I would have liked to see some included software however that may be asking too much... Its a solid pair, both work and look great and feel solid and I didnt have to think twice about the price which is always great. BUT, after about a month now, the quality is unfortunately showing through and I dont think I can strongly recommend this package for anyone who plans to do at least a moderate amount of gaming with them. Issues: -The keyboard has no onboard memory and the light has to be manually turned on each time, which isnt a huge deal except the button to power on the LEDs is also the scroll lock button for some strange reason. So this specifically effects working in spreadsheets for me, which I do on a regular basis, and I have to constantly turn the lights off and back on to be able to use the arrow keys to move around objects on screen, which is really annoying. -The LEDs on the keyboard look great, its very solid and a good color. However, the lights are behind the keys instead of actually inside each one, which means the light is hard to see through the key labels unless youre looking straight down. This isnt usually an issue on keyboards except the labels on the keys arent white so if the LED is off or you arent looking straight down at them youre basically looking at black keys and cant clearly see any of them. -The above issue wouldnt be a real issue if it wasnt for the lack of angle provided by the feet underneath the keyboard, flipping them out practically doesnt lift the keyboard at all so the keyboard is basically always just laying flat. -The mouse, unlike the keyboard for some reason, keeps its LED lights on all the time, even when the PC is shut down. Its not a serious issue, but it seems an odd design choice to have the mouse lights always on but the keyboard lights have to manually be turned back on on power up. -The last issue has only recently came up. Like I mentioned above Ive now had the product for close to a month, and the mouse scroll wheel has already started to squeak quite a bit from time to time unless scrolling very quickly. Whit that said, i must state that i am very satisfied with this mouse. Previously I was usig a generic small laptop mouse, so i got accustomed to smaller mice. i was fearing that the adaptation to this new product would be long and "painfull", however, for being a full size mouse the taipan is quite ligth weight. It is also a very sober alternative to the more flashy products designed for gamers (which i dont like): you can deactivate the razer logo back-light and it becomes a very subtle detail barely seeable in the mouse, so you can go to your office or laboratory and pretend to be a serious person. Considering my small mouse background i use a claw like grip, which is perfect for this mouse. Currently I dont use the side buttons, but they are prerfectly accesible (more on the thumb side) so i will certainly try to get some usefull functions linked to then trough the synapse program. overall 10/10 will buy more razer products in the future. The first mouse I got from them, a Copperhead, lasted until a couple months ago (almost 10 years of active gaming), and its only the left click button which isnt responding (so still fixable). This one in particular, the Taipan, is no different than Copperhead, as in its an awesome piece of hardware! Very comfortable to use, light, ergonomic, a smooth texture/feel, high pointer precision, I have nothing bad to say about it. I kind of like the fact that this mouse is wired so I dont have to worry about charging batteries and the cord is as long as needed, I actually never took the twist tie off of the extra cord and have an ample amount. The cord is not your typical rubbery electronic cord like your phone charger, it is like woven with some sort of cotton like cover and its very flexible so you dont have to deal with it being kinked or making it awkward to push the mouse around. I really like this mouse and it is very responsive and seems to be very smooth. I really like the fact that the scroll wheel and the logo on the mouse glow, it makes it easy to see in the dark and it looks really cool. The side buttons by default are programmed to go back and forward on webpages which is pretty cool. Overall I think this is a great mouse and would recommend it to a friend. Prior to having this mouse, I just used a standard Logitech wireless laptop mouse. It was on its last legs after some abuse though, so after doing some research I settled upon the Razer Taipan as something I wanted to try out. Pros: -Beautiful looking mouse. I got the white color scheme one and it is definitely pretty to look at. Also matches my white/black PC tower. -Comfortable to hold, although it is definitely for smaller hands like other reviewers have said (the reason I bought it, Ive got some baby hands). The rubber grips on either side underneath the side buttons make a super good thumb rest. I use kind of a claw grip, but it seems like it would be okay palm as well. Havent noticed any hand fatigue so far, including game sessions of 8+ hours. -The tracking on the mouse seems to be relatively top notch from my experience. Granted, I did just move from a $20 dollar wireless mouse, so there was bound to be improvement. -The adjustable DPI is a pretty nice feature, although the maximum this mouse allows (8200) is laughably unnecessary. After a couple days of experimenting playing various games, I got mine honed in at 2000, where it has been ever since. -Ludicrous initial setup aside, Razer Synapse hasnt given me any problems yet! (EDIT: jk lolz) Cons: -I have had a few severe tracking issues. The reason though, it would seem, is because the sensor is incredibly, incredibly sensitive to any interference. The first couple days after owning it, I noticed occasionally the tracking would just kind of seize up and start doing circles instead of straight lines. As far as I can tell, each time it has been from tiny specks of hair or fuzz getting in the path of the sensor. This is with a brand new, spotless mouse pad too. It is definitely frustrating when it happens, since the rest of the time it tracks excellently. -The glossy plastics making up the mouse are fairly slick, including the main left/right buttons. I havent really noticed it that badly when gaming, but they definitely seem like they would get bad quick if youve got some sweaty hands. -Occasionally upon starting a game, it seems like the mouse gets stuck at a sensitivity double of what it should actually be set at. It basically makes any games unplayable until I restart my computer (simply restarting the game, restarting Razer Synapse, or unplugging the mouse hasnt had any success). I have no idea what the source of this problem is, but Im going to go ahead and blame Razer Synapse because I have absolutely no idea what else it could be. All in all, after researching for something lightweight, good for smaller hands, and possessing the right amount of secondary buttons, I feel like I made the right decision, and am definitely happy with my purchase. Its a cheap crappy cable. The white plastic ends had rough edges, but the worst is that iphone recognizes the fake cable and message pops up in the middle of the charge something like "not recognized power source" or something and stops the charge. So you can wake up with a 20% battery sometimes. THIS DEFINITELY NOT WORTH $5 stay away from this product and this seller. Its a same cable that is on ebay for 99 cents free shipping. I am SO glad I went with this! I plugged it right in to my iPhone 5 and computer and it was ready to sync iTunes and began charging my phone right away. (if for some reason it doesnt start charging the phone, flip the part that goes into your phone over...i realize "real" apple cords arent like this, but this IS generic and saves you a lot of money, so give it a chance!) I went out to the car to plug it into the car charge (generic) that I bought (usb charger) and voila...no hesitation and began charging just fine, immediately! GREAT buy, good quality... get you one! I went to charge my phone today and it wouldnt charge.Upon looking at the cord, the area where the USB plug meets the cord is starting to disconnect and no longer charges my phone. I do not move my cords around and/or bend and abuse the cords. Id say poorly made. I opened the second one today and am not sure how long it will last. Ive had them less than a week.
