I saw how easily it worked for him, and how accurately he could write or draw with it, and was excited to get one for myself. When the mini arrived, however, I was a little disappointed with its performance. It was not as responsive as it seemed with my friend. I had to jab into my iPad pretty hard to make it work. I was also VERY disappointed that the Jot Mini wasnt made of a metal that clings to the magnets in my cover. One day, during a chorus rehearsal, my friend saw me struggling and asked if he could try my mini, as he had the Jot Pro. He struggled to make it work, too, and let me borrow his pro for the evening. I was AMAZED at the difference. The Pro is much more responsive than the mini. The plastic tip is designed to conduct better than the minis tip, and the tips are not interchangeable due to the size difference. The Pro even has magnets in it, so it clings to my iPad cover better than a simple piece of metal. Spend the extra $10. Get the pro. This stylus doesnt scratch gorilla glass, but it will scratch screen protectors. This WILL break (quit working). Adonits warranty... isnt. You will have to fix it yourself or return it to Amazon. Go ahead and buy a replacement disc (they sell them on here) and a tube of Arctic Silver thermal conductive grease now to save yourself some aggravation and shipping. When the jot stops working in a week or a month, put a TINY bit of grease in the disc socket, and it will work again for a while. When a combination of cleaning and regressing wont work anymore, use a replacement disc and start the process over again. So why buy a Jot when it is an unreliable, frustrating thing? The original jot, the jot pro, the jot pro second generation, the jot touch, and the jot script…and now the jot mini. Except for the script, that just doesnt work consistently, the others all work very well as a precision stylus. There are still two things that absolutely aggravate me about Adonits products. First: Adonit needs to learn how to make screw-caps that stay put. Their screw caps—not one of them—locks down and stays put. They all get loose, come off, end up in a pocket, in the washing machine, on the floor, or just lost. This is serious because if you lose the cap, youll snag the tip-disc and flick it off and soon you have nothing. On the generally not-working Script, the lose cap causes the battery contact to be intermittent and if you lose it, your stylus is just dead. It has no useful unpowered mode. Second: Adonit needs to figure out pocket clips! Very few of their products come with any means of securing the stylus in your pocket. In the case of the Script, that means you can easily lose an $80 stylus which maybe isnt so bad since, in my experience, the Script didnt end up working anyway;-) Seriously, Adonit makes a cap with a pocket clip, and though the threads fit most of their regular sized styli, the barrels on those are wider than the cap which makes them tricky to screw on. And the Jot Mini… seriously… the clip has a very cool looking design, but the opening is too big to stay secure in most shirts, so it flops around, comes loose, ends up in the bottom of the pocket or lost. Adonit has done one thing very well (except for the Script): theyve made styli that are great to write, highlight and draw with, though the disc tip mechanism is potentially fragile, Sadly, that very finely executed feature is not very well protected since the caps dont stay on tight and the pocket clips are non-existent or too cool to work well. First, I need to mention I think the price for the pro is way too high. Ive always thought the precision of the Adonit stylus would be ideal for me. I like having a stylus to utilize as part of my workflow, but refused to pay what Adonit charges for the Jot Pro. Im glad they came out with the mini, which is basically a Jot Pro for all intents and purposes, but with a shorter body and a reasonable price. This makes me wonder how they come up with their prices, is a longer body worth twice the cost? Anyhow, this stylus was a nightmare. That little disc falls off with the slightest provocation. Then you have to find it. Good luck with that! It was literally like looking for a needle in a haystack. Just imagine trying to find a quarter inch piece of glass at night, in carpet, or in the cushions of a couch. It can be done, but with each painstaking sweep of your furniture, work space, clothes, books etc. your patience will be tested. Luckily, for the price of a whole new stylus you can buy yourself a pack of three of these wonderful discs. What they should have done was added threads to the disc and tip of the stylus so that the disc could be screwed onto the stylus more securely and not pop off because you breathed hard. Literally, I would have to hunt for the little glass needle in a haystack three or four times a day. Finally, before even a week of use,while I was in the middle of studying, the stylus quit. One second it was writing fine, the next it was not writing at all. I was not sad. I was relieved, because I could return it as defective and rid myself of the nuisance, which is what I did. In and around the pool. It is by far my favorite waterproof case. Very slim, I have used life proof and otter box and this is one of the slimmest cases I have seen even slimmer than most non-waterproof cases. Very good drop protection it advertises like 6ft when most only offer 3ft and I have dropped it 4 times 2 of which I really panicked but not a scratch. Once the case popped open on one side but the phone did not come out. I dont know if that is by design, but if you drop it remember to check it and make sure its on good before going into the water. Most cases are only water proof up to like 5ft but this one advertises much more which is nice cause if I drop my phone in while floating in my pool its a long way to the bottom. So why not 5 stars. Well sound is dramatically effected. I usually take off the water plugs at the bottom to talk on the phone. Everyone says I sound muffled if I do not do this. Second con, is the headphone jack. Only the factory headphones will fit without modification (using a knife to trim back some of the plastic on the headphone jack). Third con, is the screen cover (this happens on all the waterproof cases except the NUUD by life proof) it just degrades the beautiful iPhone 6 screen. None of these issue would cause me to not to buy this cast again however. Its the best waterproof case I have used or seen. Hargrave em 31 de dezembro de 2015 - Publicada na Amazon.com Compra verificada This case is great, in that it keeps a slim profile, doesnt add too much weight, and provides magnets on both the front and back sides of the cover so your latch wont have to dangle in the air when its not in use. The cradle for the ipad mini 4 fits nicely and has an opening on the back to prevent overheating. The cradle rotates to a vertical standing position, which is nice. Also, when youre leaning the pad back without using the little leather stop tab it sits at a nice angle for viewing and whatnot. My only gripes are: 1. The little leather tab that you use to keep your iPad from sliding forward when youve got it standing up is not all that easy to use and sort of requires you to pick at it with your fingernail and hold it up while you slide your ipad under it, which makes it easy to accidentally touch the screen and change a setting or otherwise mess something up. 2. The little gold-plated magnet at the end of the latch appears to be very easy to scratch, or the paint is just coming off naturally. Not a huge deal, really, but it is a minor annoyance. PROs: Decent price for a decent case. I like the design and the functionality CONs: The leather stop tab sort of sucks. A rippled speed-bump sort of surface would have been more appropriate. The paint on the magnet latch is kind of bubbly. Not incredibly noticeable, though. Hargrave em 31 de dezembro de 2015 - Publicada na Amazon.com Compra verificada This case is great, in that it keeps a slim profile, doesnt add too much weight, and provides magnets on both the front and back sides of the cover so your latch wont have to dangle in the air when its not in use. The cradle for the ipad mini 4 fits nicely and has an opening on the back to prevent overheating. The cradle rotates to a vertical standing position, which is nice. Also, when youre leaning the pad back without using the little leather stop tab it sits at a nice angle for viewing and whatnot. My only gripes are: 1. The little leather tab that you use to keep your iPad from sliding forward when youve got it standing up is not all that easy to use and sort of requires you to pick at it with your fingernail and hold it up while you slide your ipad under it, which makes it easy to accidentally touch the screen and change a setting or otherwise mess something up. 2. The little gold-plated magnet at the end of the latch appears to be very easy to scratch, or the paint is just coming off naturally. Not a huge deal, really, but it is a minor annoyance. PROs: Decent price for a decent case. I like the design and the functionality CONs: The leather stop tab sort of sucks. A rippled speed-bump sort of surface would have been more appropriate. I previously had a case from Brookstone for my mini 2 that allowed me to prop up my ipad both vertically and horizontally. They discontinued it and I have been looking for a similar case since. For some reason almost no one make cases that enable us to prop the ipad mini horizontally AND vertically. Well, this one does! I just got it in navy. The material feels really nice and I am so happy that I can view my ipad either direction with this. The only negative is that in the horizontal mode, the magnet clip can tend to hang down over the screen at the top. But I think I can work with it to keep it from doing that. Replaced it with the Ringke Wave, same slim profile but much higher quality construction. One major flaw that caused me to return the Spigen Neo Hybrid, the thin hard plastic parts where the button cut outs are on either side bows out and ends up getting caught on things. I am sure these gaps will fill in with debris and make things worse over time. This was the first day of use. No amount of reattaching and pressing it in place helps. It creates a bumper for the screen to protect it from a direct face plant, but Im going to add to it a screen protector like I did with my iPhone. It does a decent job of protecting the phone while maintaining a very slim profile.
