Unfortunately we probably got a unit from the first production run, so there are many issues that still need to be sorted out before you should buy this. So far I havent been able to print anything other than a 1" tall sample part. Here are some of the problems: 1) Filament sometimes gets stuck during removal. Makerbot suggests using pliers to pull out filament, but doing this yanks the Smart Extruder off the cart, which is apparently bad for it. Had to disassemble my Smart Extruder to remove the filament plug that had formed inside. 2) Calibration seems broken. The nozzle scrapes along the build plate even after multiple rounds of leveling and calibration. 3) Filament jams repeatedly. Was unable to actually print after the initial test part. Likely due to the calibration issue described above. Fails about 15-20 seconds into print. Resuming or restarting the print does not help. 4) Slow firmware. Takes a very long time to boot up, to upgrade firmware (15 minutes), to calibrate, to start printing, etc. If youve used any other Makerbot product youll be pretty disappointed by this. 5) Poorly designed filament guide. The Z18 uses a long flexible plastic straw as a guide, and it kind of floats near the print head. It occasionally gets caught or kinked against the lid, which yanks the Smart Extruder off the cart. Unlike the Replicator 2, for example, the straw does not fit into the print head. It just dangles. Observations based on firmware 1.2.0.112. Update: Makerbot sent out a new Smart Extruder via overnight mail. Now it will start extruding without immediately jamming, but I still cant print. Nothing seems to stick to the base plate, so when I come back after 30 minutes to check on things, theres usually a huge glob of molten filament around the extruder tip and a birds nest of extruded filament scattered around the build plate. They finally released a better smart extruder, which you have to pay for. The amount of time spent on getting a good print is far too high - I could send out files to print for cheaper. PREVIOUS: For the cost, this printer should be far beyond its experimental phase and should be a consumer-ready device -- not something one has to spend hours toying with in order to get it working. The 1st printer we received had multiple issues and errors -- A) The printer could not detect that the door was closed. B) The ribbon cables inside the machine were not fully seated. C) The "smart" extruder was not being detected. D) Once printing, prints could not stick to the print bed without using a raft (Im still testing options to correct this). E) The updated firmware does not work (causing a "carriage disconnected" issue, and then an error in which the printer couldnt detect the smart extruder) User support (I have a MakerCare Plan) has to be the worst support I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. I was on the phone that first evening for over an hour just waiting for a human to answer. I had submitted a case ticket as well, with no reply. I finally reached a human the next morning and he was completely clueless and unhelpful -- all he could do was request the printers diagnostic logs so an expert could review them and get back to me (I emailed the logs to him, with no reply of receipt, and no answer to correct the printers issues -- it has been 2 weeks!!!). I found a user group on Google for Makerbot Owners and found more support and answers there than Makerbots User Support or website. I reseated the interior cables, factory reset the printer, and rolled back firmware (seemed to solve most of the issues with the smart extruder and carriage being detected). I then printed a couple test models that come on the printers storage and a model of my own. There were a few hiccups, but the prints turned out fairly well (hence the rating above 1*). I havent solved the issue of successfully printing without a raft yet, but the model I created and printed turned out quite well (except it could have used some supports, which I didnt check ON). Other CONs: The spool should have a simple hinged piece to keep pressure on the filament, so it cannot unravel (seems like it would be simple to implement). The electronic noises the printer makes are annoying (not the mechanical noises). The bright lights inside the printer dont turn off (Im not sure if they can be turned off) The web cam is not very useful Final Comments: We sent the printer back and got a new one -- got error code 13 and 1500 on the new printer. I reseated the cables, which fixed both errors. I am printing now, and it seems to be working fine now. Hopefully I can work with the printer to get the best results, but this printer is definitely not ready for regular consumers. The second thing they will probably notice is the wacky environment and zany sense of humour. Deponia tells the story of Rufus, a young man who is desperate to leave his hometown and forge something better. He’s so desperate that he’ll emancipate himself with a makeshift rocket. This is quite understandable, since he literally lives in a junkyard. Although Rufus isnt the most lovable protagonist (he tends to be rather brusque and callous at times, and tends to take selfishness to almost unbelievable extremes), he does breathe a great deal of life into the adventure, making Deponia as riveting as a classic novel such as Little Women or Les Miserables. I know thats an exaggeration, but it really is hard to stop playing once you get into the swing of things. There are more twists and turns than a spaghetti dinner-for-eight, as he swiftly finds himself wrapped up in a conspiracy concerning a beautiful damsel in distress and a nation in turmoil. The cliches end here, though, and you’ll always find yourself eager to unravel more mysteries. The side characters include Rufus friend Wenzel, ex-girlfriend Toni (dont forget to exhaust her conversation options) and the traditional mad scientist. They breathe life into the game and make things both realistic and engaging. This will be considerably easier said than done, however. The puzzles do make logical sense (in hindsight), but a great deal of creative thinking and memorization is needed before you can, for instance, mix an energy drink to render the beautiful lady lucid and able to converse with you. Where did I leave the magic ginger and disgusting coffee? Fans of the two Discworld games for the PC and the ancient King’s Quest games will certainly feel nostalgic here. The solutions are often counter-intuitive, but there is a logic behind them. This is just the first game in the series of the deponia games. I bought this game previously from steam when it first came out years ago and I bought it again when it came out for the ps4. It is a point and click adventure game in the style of monkey island and others of lucasart titles. It has been updated a bit for ps4 controls and new built in faster travel speeds incorporated. You are the anti-hero, Rufus, whose main goal is to leave this planet and will do anything to achieve that. When he “rescues” a girl, he discovers there are bigger things going on. Will he make the right decision when it really counts? This is a point-and-click adventure game. Overall, I enjoyed the game. The plot itself was good but slow to develop. From what I understand, this is the first in a series of games. So, consider this the first episode. There are a few unresolved issues that will not be answered. The puzzles were a mixed bag. I figured most of them out on my own. For the few, I had to consult a walkthrough. It can be a bit frustrating when you are checking every nook and cranny or combining everything in your inventory so you can make some progress. And there were a lot of weird combinations. My main pet peeve was the controls. The tutorial was not really helpful and I spent the first 20 minutes, trying to remember what the tutorial said. Eventually, I got the hang of it but it took about 2 hours before I finally got a feel for it. You don’t know what a relief it was. Rufus moves slowly from one scene to another and having the option to teleport him from one room to another was like mana from heaven. Other than that, the game ran smoothly. There was no lag between screens. There were a few times where the subtitles don’t match what the characters were saying. There wasnt really bad language. More sarcasm than anything. The artwork/design is simple but gorgeous. I love the thick-line cartoon look. The voice acting is good and fit their characters. Normally, I would pass over these type of games (I play RPGs/Adventures/Simulation games) but I wanted to give it try. It took me about 20+ hours to finish the game and get 75% of the trophies. So, for the price, it was worth the entertainment. I might go back to get all the trophies but it doesn’t have much replay value otherwise. I would’ve preferred that the developer placed all the sequels on one disc, since I would love to see what happens next. However, this game is not for everyone. If you looking for fast pace with lots of action, this is not it. If you are looking for humor, decent plot and puzzle-solving, this is for you. In the end, I will be waiting for the sequel. I would love see what happens to Rufus. What Ive learned, Ive ususally learned on my own or through YouTube. I have made MANY visits to the "Tube" to understand this game. I have been a RE fan since game 1. Ive watched the series grow, stumble, grow a little more, go completely away from the series, and finally upright itself. RE 2 Revelations is a great change of place since RE 5, 6, and Resident Evil Revelations. I mean, who can really be scared about fighting blobs of goo, moving rocks, and other throwaway monsters. I will list my pros and cons: Pros: The actual game play itself is relative easy. The creatures are way more scary (some actually look like ZOMBIES)! There are the invisible kind, which I had quite a bit of trouble with, mutations within mutations, and some kick-butt bosses. Since you have to play with BOTH members of your "team," you will need to learn to get a move-on. Creatures do not wait for you to combine your weapons, change your weapons, or even administer health. This game was indeed more survival horror instead of what weve seen since RE5. Cons: Please keep in mind these are MY cons. All you guys that I would consider PROS at this probably will get a good laugh and tell me to start watching TV again! Keep in mind that Im 62 and probably dont know HALF of what you guys know, so just bear with me. I do not like the way you change your weapons. RE Revelations was more simple and easier. I also dont believe Ill ever under the "mercenaries" game. I dont understand the concept of "destroying" your weapons. You also cannot interchange your acquired parts. All the characters come pre-equipped with weapons, so you never really can earn any kick-butt new ones (or can you?). All in all, though, this is the best RE in a long time. Por Brlane em 11 de abril de 2017 - Publicada na Amazon.com Compra verificada this is a true return to form for resident evil. this is the first resident evil game i have played since the outbreak games that FELT like resident evil. its dark its scary and atmospheric. you read files and explore dark creepy places. not run around mindlessly gunning down monsters. while i love resident evil 6 im not going to bash it because it was a great game as well. as for re5 i am still playing that game and will have a review coming later. i honestly think that capcom listened to the fans and gave us something good one last time (before the series moved on to the ps4) much like how order of ecclesia was the last good castlevania to be released. best of all theres no onslaught of quick time garbage that has been crippling the game since resident evil 4.(that is one of the only weak points in re4) claire redfield returns from resident evil 2 along side barrys daughter moira in her debut. the girls are kidnapped and barry burton from re1 returns to find them. there are 2 campaigns claire and moira and barry and natalia (another new character) the game is episodic in nature broken up in 4 parts when you finish claires story in each episode you then switch to barry for his adventure. i highly recommend this game for any resident evil fan Ler mais 4,0 de 5 estrelas Surprisingly good Por Misfit mitten em 15 de novembro de 2015 - Publicada na Amazon.com Compra verificada Having played through most of the games in the resident evil franchise, I found this game refreshing as it required more thinking than mindless shooting of the "infected" found in resident evil 6. There was definitely no quick-time, which seemed to plagued previous releases. The co-op was a disappointment as Moira and Natalia were incapable of firing any type of gun (a huge let down) a crowbar and brick are pitiful replacements. Although Natalias contribution was interesting, it was incredibly limiting and boring at times; which is more than can be said for Moiras sad flashlight. On the plus side, I now find myself reading Franz Kafka as his work was often quoted and inspired chapter titles (potentially more). Overall, the game was fun and scary (at times)! I thought the plot was pretty good, though it seems to be, basically, a rehash of Code Veronica--nothing spectacular but sows the seeds to keep the series going. The campaign itself was a little frustrating with ammo being ridiculously scarce and constantly needing to creep around as your secondary character to find precious sparkles. Where this game easily shines, and shines brightly, is the Raid mode. Its fantastic and fun revisiting levels and enemies from Resident Evil 6, Revelations 1 and Revelations 2. Ever since Resident Evil 3 introduced "The Mercenaries" that mode has always been my favorite part of the game (including Resident Evil 6--the one part that didnt suck). Revelations 2 is well worth a purchase for any Resident Evil fan--even those disillusioned by 6. This is one of my very favorite games of the past console generation, and my favorite franchise, as well. And on that subject, I would say that "A Crack in Time" is the best Ratchet and Clank adventure to date, though Im sure Insomniac is cooking up something extra special for the forthcoming "Into the Nexus", as well as whatever Lombax madness might be arriving on the highly vaunted PS4. If you are a Ratchet fan, you need this game in your collection. If youre a fan of platformers, you absolutely NEED to give this game a try. Ive never played a better platformer in my life, though Rayman Origins comes darned close (although the two are so different, its hard to make an adequate comparison - lets just agree that theyre both awesome). Whats particularly noteworthy about "A Crack in Time" is just how much there is to do in this crazy universe. The story-driven campaign is quite lengthy on its own, but I love revisiting the sectors that Ive already passed through. There, I can search moons and planets for additional challenges and collectibles, including gold bolts, zoni, and schematics for the ultimate weapon, the RYNO V. Additionally, I can answer distress calls from other star travelers and assist them, upgrade my spaceship, do battle with other ships, collect weapons and gadgets, focus on leveling up Ratchet AND all his crazy weapons, visit the coliseum for arena battles, and so forth. And as if all that wasnt enough, theres STILL the challenge mode (New Game+), trophies, AND a whole bunch of skill points to acquire. This is platforming perfection, and Ratchet and Clank gold. The game is nicely split between the adventures of Ratchet on one hand, and the adventures of Clank on the other (Clanks portion of the game is actually the most entertaining and amusing). Other than the great graphics, challenging gameplay, fun story and ribald humor that weve come to expect from this series, there are a lot of interesting aspects to this installment that make it a standout: hoverboots were a fantastic idea, they are tremendous fun to use; General Azimuth, one of the last remaining Lombaxes, is a fun companion; the voice acting in this game is some of the best Ive heard in a video game -- the best since Red Dead Redemption, which is arguably the best of all time; and the soundtrack in this one is really fantastic, puts you in the mood for a rousing space epic. I could only come up with two minor problems that keep this from being a five star classic: firstly the choice of weapons is surprisingly mediocre, certainly nowhere near as good as Tools of Destruction; and the lack of a female presence in the game is kind of a letdown -- if you are going to have a rousing space epic of game, it would be nice (from a male players POV) to have a good-looking, clever female sidekick with black belt in karate, a Princess Leia to your Han Solo. But these were only two minor flaws. Crack in Time is at least as good as the superb Tools of Destruction, and a worthy installment in the series. Previous knowledge isnt required, but there are occasional nods through the story. Those familiar with the series should know what to expect, and the game delivers: Outrageous weapons, bizarre alien worlds, silly fun with sci-fi tropes; its all there. The biggest change this time around is that the two title characters are separated for most of the game, due to events that took place at the end of the previous title. Ratchets gameplay remains the same, though his jumping skills are limited. Clanks, however, is completely new in that it deals with a lot of puzzle elements involving the use of "time clones" to coordinate series of platforming challenges. They can be surprisingly tricky, especially for those just here for the run-and-gun gameplay, but luckily these can be skipped if the game notices youre talking a long time to complete them. You lose out on some bonuses, but its nothing that will detract from the core experience. My only real complaint here is the new gimmick of Ratchets hover-boots. You get these several levels in, and they can be tricky to control, often leading to multiple deaths within certain portions of the level. Your experience may vary, but I wasnt a fan. All in all, though, if youre a fan of this series and havent gotten around to picking this up, its definitely worth your time. On top of the fact that these licensed remotes actually work consistently and they dont ever break, Nintendo has made quite a few neat improvements since the original Wii remotes: -First off, Wii Motion Plus is built in, which is really nice. -Batteries last for hours upon hours upon hours (though Id still recommend buying rechargeable batteries.) -The grips now have these little grooves in them which makes them very comfortable to hold onto. -The button for syncing is now found on the outside of the remote, so you dont have to remove the backing to sync it with your Wii/Wii U -And the remotes come with those rubber grips, which personally, I find a hassle and would rather just not bother with, but other users might find them to be pretty neat. So if you need a remote or a few extra remotes, just splurge the extra dollars and go with something licensed, theres much more value in it. While I still have my Wii and WiiU I only had one Wii remote to pass among the two consoles and yes while the WiiU doesnt actually need the remote unless youre playing wii games on it or using a specific wiiu game that requires it it wasnt really needed for the WiiU. Except I decided I wanted to play some of my gamecube games and yes while I still have a functional gamecube console I felt it was better to just hookup the wii again to my t.v. and with that this extra remote has definitely helped me. The overall design is the same as it is with other wii plus remote but its the color and character deign scheme that definitely make it stand out from the one color remotes that came before it. While we may never get any new wii character remotes its nice to see that you can still get these at affordable prices. Some have said just get a third party developer remotes but after doing so just once for my PS3 controller and how badly that ended I refuse to get any third party controllers again and will just stick with the company ones and while they are somewhat pricier you at least know youre getting a good quality device. I should have bought the official Nintendo Wii Remote in the first place. The quality is top notch, and syncing it up with my Wii was a breeze. My wife and I love our Wii for the sports games, and having a second controller is a must. I highly recommend if you are replacing a controller or just picking up a second (or third, or fourth). The rubber grip is awkward and seems to interfere with the sensor, but its easily removed and not necessarily as the remote is pretty durable. Audio quality is clear, and it is the most comfortable headset that Ive ever owned. The ear cups do a good job of canceling noise out as well. The microphone works great also, however a plastic piece broke off of it, leaving an exposed wire and a shaky, unstable mic. Take a look at the attached picture if you want to see exactly what Im talking about. I have contacted Kingston customer service asking them to replace the mic since this headset comes with a 2 year warranty and am currently waiting to hear back from them. I will update my review, and depending on how they handle this issue change my rating to either 1 or 5 stars. Update: Kingston replaced the mic for free under warranty. They sent it with 2 day shipping and didnt even require me to send the broken part back. For me as a live streamer on Twitch.tv I need two things for long gaming sessions headset wise: Comfort and Quality. These are by far the most comfortable headset I have ever worn. The design is sleek and it is WELL made. Most headsets nowadays come with leatherette ear cups and I CANT STAND IT. So I was happy to see the HyperX Cloud had replaceable Velour Ear Cushions. (the cloth ones) That was a huge plus for me. The soft leather band on the headset makes your skull feel like you are in HEAVEN. Too many headset makers dont care much for the pressure a headset puts on your noggin. HyperX does. I have had these 2 months prior to the recent release and not one sign of wear, and trust me I have a HUGE head. Now for sound. 53MM Drivers. This is better then most out there. And it is obvious in the sound. I play World of Warcraft and other MMOs, and let me tell you the sounds I can now hear that I couldnt before. The sound is so much clearer you wonder how the hell you tolerated your previous headset. The Aluminum build gives the Cloud a great shape and shows that HyperX cares about the longevity of their products. If you want comfort and quality sound this is your headset. And at $99? Yeah its worth it. I wanted to have the stereo version since my creative fatal1ty is now 2 yrs old. Just felt like having an update. Using the 3.5mm jacks for headphones and microphone i was able to utilize my onboard asus sound card with crystal sound 2.0 same as the creative, but sure its stereo - however when configured right you can pinpoint location pretty well. The HyperX Cloud is just as comfy as the Cloud II. Great build quality i feel with them. Love the white and black color - its looks clean and crisp and now also matches my new rig which is an artic white corsair 760t. Sound - it is a step up to the creative - good lows, mids n highs and good base. in games it is not too boomy or bassy but has just the right amount for the explosions in a game like battlefield 4 - but does not hinder you from pinpointing sound. I love it so far - just wore it for 8+ hrs straight gaming and didnt have a problem. If Kingston reads this review - please see the review i put in for the HyperX Cloud II and why i gave it a 2 stars. all the info is there. If you can make a Kingston HyperX Cloud III based on the constructive criticism i have for the Cloud II and have it to where you have the best of both worlds of the Original and the II esp in white or pink, i will definitely buy those when they drop. The sound quality is excellent, seems to be well made, (although I havent owned it for very long yet) and I have no problems with the microphone quality. I was pleasantly surprised at how many adapters HyperX included without additional cost. It came with multiple AUX extender cables (the ones with a mic and speaker jack) plus a 2-to-1 standard AUX adapter. One of the extender cables included a nice volume adjustment box. They even included a replacement pair of earphone pads, which were a soft cloth material. The ones that come on the headset are a leather-like material, so I guess HyperX wanted us to have the option. They also included a travel case for the headset. Would definitely recommend to a friend. I have already installed about 15 or so of these brackets, and have decided I like them better than the Sabrent dual SSD brackets. I have installed over 50 of the Sabrent brackets before I discovered these. These are easier to use for the most part. Also, these put the connectors in about the same location as a regular hard drive, so it fits more brackets (such as those blue plastic ones Dell uses). The ONLY thing that drives me nuts about these brackets is how they package the screws. It comes with 3 sets of 4 screws, each in their own little bag, which is TIGHTLY rolled up and then TAPED shut. It is really challenging to get the screws out without cutting yourself. I have written to Corsair to try to get them to change this, since I will probably be installing hundreds of these things. These brackets are good, but some of the edges are kinda sharp. Of course, if you work on computers a lot you realize there are a lot of sharp things inside a computer case. But for you novices out there, just be careful when you handle these. Bottom line: I prefer these over the Sabrents because of where they position the SSD connectors, and because it is easier to install a SSD in them. But then I realized Im the idiot and this bracket should not pay for my sins. If its helpful for any of you: I installed this in combination with a Samsung 850 EVO in a 21.5" 2011 iMac. As mentioned, it took me forever to figure it out before I finally realized it needed to be installed UPSIDE DOWN in order for everything to fit properly. They feature an all aluminum construction, making the adapter practically featherlight. I bought three of these recently to install in a MicroATX PC case I also recently purchased (Raijintek Styx). My case usually supports either one of two configurations: 1) 3x 3.5” HDDs + 2x 2.5” HDDs 2) 1x 3.5” HDDs + 4x 2.5” HDDs With three of these adapters, I can install EIGHT 2.5” HDDs... LOL! If you are not a case modder (and/or if you are afraid of breaking your stuff) just take my word for it— read no further. This is the adapter you want. If you ARE a case modder (and/or if you are not afraid of potentially breaking your stuff), then I have a pro tip for you: if you break the 2.5” HDD guide tabs off with a pair of pliers, it’s possible to install a 15mm tall 2.5” HDD (example: any 4TB 2.5” HDD currently on the market) IN ADDITION TO a standard height 2.5” HDD. If you succeed in breaking the tabs off cleanly, you will want to mount your 15mm tall drive in the bottom slot. While you’re aligning the drive with the screw holes, screw the screws in loosely, then gently push down on the drive and tighten the screws. Then, grab your standard height drive and align it with the screw holes on the top slot. Do the same as last time, except THIS time you will want to pull UP on the drive as you tighten the screws. If you did everything right, you will have a decent amount of space between the two drives and they should NOT be making any contact with each other. It may be possible to put TWO 15mm tall 2.5” drives in one adapter, but it may be too tall for in your 3.5” bay. However I have not tested this (...yet). Por Anon em 2 de novembro de 2016 - Publicada na Amazon.com Compra verificada Im an experienced computer builder and needed to mount an SSD in an older Thermaltake Armor MX Case. Pros: Very sturdy. Nicely finished. No sharp edges. Cool Corsair logo. Potential Cons: I really only have two: 1) The screws provided have a shallow cut Phillips screw head. None of the precision screwdrivers I own would unscrew these screws well. I had to use a pair of pliers to unscrew the screws from the drive after a screw fitting test. Very odd--never had this happen before--I have a comprehensive set of screwdrivers and none fit well. I ended up replacing them with standard SSD mounting screws, which had no problems. Tip: Its helpful to have a pair of long tweezers or a Kelly clamp handy if you want to mount an SSD in the lower slot to hold the screw steady when attaching the drive. 2) The mount does not fit exactly in the Thermaltake Armor MX screwless drive enclosures (which you need in order to fit the drives in the drive cage). I had to get a pair of tin snips to cut off about 2 to 3 mm off of the front corner of the mounting bracket to get the screw holes to line up. Im not blaming either Corsair nor Thermaltake for this--just noting it in case someone else wishes to use this mount with that particular case. In summary, great mounting bracket that will suit the vast majority of folks. Im only taking a half a star off for the odd screws. (It is possible that I got a bad set.) In any event, easily rectified and I would purchase this mount again. Came with all the screws as advertised. I didnt need to mount 2 SSDs but if I had, it might have been an issue to get all the cables to fit in such a tight area. I like that it has slots for the mounting screws that allow one to slide the SSD back and forth as/if needed... instead of just fixed screw holes. Helps accommodate cables. Audio quality is clear, and it is the most comfortable headset that Ive ever owned. The ear cups do a good job of canceling noise out as well. The microphone works great also, however a plastic piece broke off of it, leaving an exposed wire and a shaky, unstable mic. Take a look at the attached picture if you want to see exactly what Im talking about. I have contacted Kingston customer service asking them to replace the mic since this headset comes with a 2 year warranty and am currently waiting to hear back from them. I will update my review, and depending on how they handle this issue change my rating to either 1 or 5 stars. Update: Kingston replaced the mic for free under warranty. They sent it with 2 day shipping and didnt even require me to send the broken part back. For me as a live streamer on Twitch.tv I need two things for long gaming sessions headset wise: Comfort and Quality. These are by far the most comfortable headset I have ever worn. The design is sleek and it is WELL made. Most headsets nowadays come with leatherette ear cups and I CANT STAND IT. So I was happy to see the HyperX Cloud had replaceable Velour Ear Cushions. (the cloth ones) That was a huge plus for me. The soft leather band on the headset makes your skull feel like you are in HEAVEN. Too many headset makers dont care much for the pressure a headset puts on your noggin. HyperX does. I have had these 2 months prior to the recent release and not one sign of wear, and trust me I have a HUGE head. Now for sound. 53MM Drivers. This is better then most out there. And it is obvious in the sound. I play World of Warcraft and other MMOs, and let me tell you the sounds I can now hear that I couldnt before. The sound is so much clearer you wonder how the hell you tolerated your previous headset. The Aluminum build gives the Cloud a great shape and shows that HyperX cares about the longevity of their products. If you want comfort and quality sound this is your headset. And at $99? Yeah its worth it. I wanted to have the stereo version since my creative fatal1ty is now 2 yrs old. Just felt like having an update. Using the 3.5mm jacks for headphones and microphone i was able to utilize my onboard asus sound card with crystal sound 2.0 same as the creative, but sure its stereo - however when configured right you can pinpoint location pretty well. The HyperX Cloud is just as comfy as the Cloud II. Great build quality i feel with them. Love the white and black color - its looks clean and crisp and now also matches my new rig which is an artic white corsair 760t. Sound - it is a step up to the creative - good lows, mids n highs and good base. in games it is not too boomy or bassy but has just the right amount for the explosions in a game like battlefield 4 - but does not hinder you from pinpointing sound. I love it so far - just wore it for 8+ hrs straight gaming and didnt have a problem. If Kingston reads this review - please see the review i put in for the HyperX Cloud II and why i gave it a 2 stars. all the info is there. If you can make a Kingston HyperX Cloud III based on the constructive criticism i have for the Cloud II and have it to where you have the best of both worlds of the Original and the II esp in white or pink, i will definitely buy those when they drop. The sound quality is excellent, seems to be well made, (although I havent owned it for very long yet) and I have no problems with the microphone quality. I was pleasantly surprised at how many adapters HyperX included without additional cost. It came with multiple AUX extender cables (the ones with a mic and speaker jack) plus a 2-to-1 standard AUX adapter. One of the extender cables included a nice volume adjustment box. They even included a replacement pair of earphone pads, which were a soft cloth material. The ones that come on the headset are a leather-like material, so I guess HyperX wanted us to have the option. They also included a travel case for the headset. Would definitely recommend to a friend. The magnet strip where the cover and case meet isnt secured very well, and the cover metal pulled the magnet straight out of the case after about 4 months of normal use. The plastic holding the magnet then quickly snapped off where the magnet used to be, leaving me the choice between supergluing all of it back together, or finding a different case; I chose the latter (Inateck). Lastly, when it was intact, the cover did not do an adequate job of securing the "closed" position via the magnet. After closing my Paperwhite and going to sleep thinking it was securely off, I would sometimes wake to the Kindle believing that I had been "reading" the same page all night because it hadnt closed properly. This not only wastes the life of my backlight, but also throws my pages remaining count all out of whack and required manual fixing a few times. Ive had the case for 2-3 months now and the case looks pretty good still. It has a few faint stains, but since the case is a light color, that is kind of expected. The reason I gave the case only 3 stars, though, is because after a couple weeks, the magnets in the inside of the case started coming out when I opened the top. My husband ended up super gluing both of the magnets into their spots. The plastic on the outside, next to the magnets is weak so that ended up breaking while we were trying to fix the magnets, but we just glued that as well. So overall I give it three stars. The color and case is nice, but I would expect the magnets to stay put. At least until the case is a little bit older. Updated on 12/28: After publishing this review, the seller contacted me and offered to send a new case at no cost to me. It arrived quickly and looks like the magnets fit better than my old one. I dont know if this was a quality control problem or what but I was extremely disappointed. I ended up ordering another more expensive case from another vendor on Amazon. If you fold the cover up as a stand its not an issue, but if you just want to read and fold the cover back to hold behind the device, it just feels unnatural to me so I take the whole case off more than I keep it on the Kindle. Comfort and sound slightly worse than my MDR-1000X’s but for gaming (especially the zero latency) it’s pretty fantastic. I was previously using a very good corded Sennheiser headset but the cable kept getting run over or tangled in my chair, so it’s great having zero anxiety around that (plus, 20 hour battery life? This headset is loud and if you fiddle with the equalizer enough, you will have a great pair of speakers on your head. I listen to electronic music a ton, and its super important that I hear the different levels that the certain song gives - these do an amazing job. Even vocal driven songs sound great. The bass is a little high, but I turned that down so that the treb and the bass are pretty equal. (Ive included my equalizers for iTunes and the engine for those that are interested so they can check it out.) The next best thing is the comfort. Oh my goodness, are they comfortable. Ive been wearing them for a while now and I can see how people say they are stiff when you first get them, but they will loosen after you wear them enough. They are causing a tiny bit discomfort, but I have faith that they will stretch. My ears also tend to be very sensitive are get very irritated after a little while when they have something pressing against them, but the ear covers are exceptional. Very roomy for my ears and there is nothing irritating them for the time I have been wearing the headset. I am however going to jump straight into the one problem they have. There is a major clicking in the mic when I use the given sound card with the mirco plug in. Its horrifying how loud the clicking is. I am pretty sure this is a problem with the sound card - not the software. A lot of people have been addressing this clicking issue for a year now and Steelseries is really horrible about the issue and has no fix for it. The only ACTUAL FIX for the headset is using the 3.5mm jacks with the soundcard instead of the micro USB - but you lose the lights on the headset if you used the 3.5mm. Funny thing is, I intended to use this headset with the Siberia USB External Soundcard anyways because I heard there were sound issues and mic issues with the given sound card. So I knew from the get-go that I wasnt going to use the lights on the headset. It still sucks incredibly because the biggest selling point for this headset is the color changing lights. The fact that you cant even use them without having a clicking mic, is why I gave them 3 stars. 150 dollars for a headset thats supposed to have lights but you cant use - is pretty awful. I would really like this headset to 100% amazing. Except the problems the mic has, along with Steelseries hardly caring about their defective products is a true bummer. I can live with it however and am pretty pleased. Overall, these headphones are awesome- probably the best gaming headset Ive ever owned. As for sound quality, its probably not up to par for the audiophiles out there, but I personally think the audio is pretty decent. Everybody else seems to think theres a problem with the volume not being loud enough, but Ive been able to turn it up way past comfort levels. Comfort - Super comfortable and I have no problem with wearing these for extended periods of time. The Microphone - friends tell me its super clear. I love being able to retract the microphone into the unit. Software - easy to use and useful. The LEDs are a cool feature even though you cant see anything when you wear it. Build quality is excellent on this piece and everything feels to be built with high quality materials Cons - its super huge and doesnt sit around my neck very well when I want to take it off but dont want to put it down. There were no reviews when I ordered it. But I was looking for a case that opened like a book (as opposed to the flip over lid). And I wanted one that would allow the kindle to stand up on its own because sometimes I just dont want to hold it. This case does all that just fine. The kindle snaps into the case easily. Its just a press fit (i.e. friction) - no clips or other mechanism to hold it in. It takes a little effort to remove the kindle from the case but it can be done. I do not anticipate removing it so Im not bothered by that. As with all cases, it does add some bulk but not very much. The texture on the case actually makes it a bit less slippery than the naked device, which is a good thing. The kindle is protected on all sides (and all 4 corners) which makes me very happy since Ive been known to drop it on a tile floor. The cover can wrap all the way around to the back so its not left flapping. It can also be held open with your left hand (to block the view of that nosy person next to you on the plane who keeps looking at what you are reading). Since the cover is origami style, it isnt completely rigid so it will sometimes start folding itself. Note, since the kindle can only be put into the case one way in order for the power button and charging port to line up correctly, the cover will only open to the left - just like a regular book cover does. The origami fold is what holds the kindle upright when you want to put it on a table. It works fine. There is only one "angle" available. No adjustments. It will hold the kindle upright in both portrait and landscape orientation. No instructions were provided. Every time I fold the cover I do it backwards. But there are only 2 choices. So if it doesnt stay upright, fold it the other way. Its not hard. I felt comfortable enough to toss it into my backpack while traveling but Im also careful not to let sharp heavy objects press on the front. Im very happy with my purchase. I tend to buy very nice, sturdy cases. I am very careful with all my electronic devices (you could safely say I baby them), however, I have always been a bit of a klutz, and I believe in "better safe than sorry". I usually buy Otterbox cases (I also like Lifeproof and Seidio). I have an Otterbox Defender on my Paperwhite, and both my Kindle Fires (HD and HDX), and the official Amazon leather case (with LED light) on my Kindle 4. My husband bought me a Kindle Voyage for Christmas. He knows that with this, Id buy a nice case. So I looked for an Otterbox case. Nope. Otterbox doesnt make one for the Voyage (and even months after the Voyages release, they STILL dont, which surprises me since the Voyage is a premium eReader, and even more pricey than the Paperwhite). Hmmm.... So I looked for ANY rugged case for the Voyage. To my dismay, there really werent any, and the case selection in general for the Voyage was very limited. The first case I bought was a Fintie. Not bad, but it left the edges of the Voyage too exposed. I could just see myself dropping my pretty little Voyage down the stairs (or anywhere else for that matter), with those edges getting whacked. No way. So I did a little research and bought an Omoton (the smart shell one). I was somewhat happy with that one for awhile (most all of the edges of the Voyage were covered), and there were some things I liked about it, but the case had a cardboard feel to it, so I continued looking. I bought a Supcase, which was nice, but since it had no cover, I was concerned about the screen getting scratched. I bought a screen protector, but I still wasnt happy with the protection with the Supcase, so I kept looking. I then found a padded leather like Omoton that was pretty nice, but after reading for extended periods of time the case became uncomfortable and awkward, as although the cover folded back, it would slide around (yes, Im picky). Honestly, I have never purchased so many cases in my life for a device, but I just couldnt find one that I was happy with, until now. A few days later I came across this MoKo case. It seemed to have the features I was looking for...a sturdy frame covering almost all of the edges of the Voyage, a fabric that felt comfortable and not cheap, a cover that was magnetic not only when opening and closing the top, but also magnetic when you fold it back (which meant it didnt slip around), a compact size, comfortable to read with one hand (and I have tiny hands), and a button cover that actually worked very well. Ive now had this MoKo case for a little over a week and have read 3 or 4 books since I started using it. It is light and easy to hold. Beyond protection, the main thing I was looking for was a way to set my Kindle upright on the table in front of me. I find myself frequently eating alone in restaurants or at home and I tend to read while I eat. So, the qualities I want most are (1) stability and (2) upright angle. For these reasons, this product gets 4/5 stars. Because the Kindle has to be far enough away so that its not in my plate, it needs to be a little more upright than this case makes it. Not bad, but not ideal. Also, as some others have complained about, the design of the case is to make it upright. But because the hinge is on the vertical and not in the middle, it had a tendency to lean right. Bumped a little and it has a tendency to topple over. It hasnt actually happened yet, so it is more anxiety over the prospect than actual calamity that Im whining about. Maybe two years from now Ill say, "Wow, the problem I thought I had never happened." Well see. The other supposed eventuality Im expecting is that the hinge will get looser over time and not hold up so well. Again, anticipation and not actual experience...yet. Keep in mind, I recognize my misgivings as that and not actual faults. I hope you count 4 of 5 stars ratings like I do. I make buying decisions based on 4 and 5 star reviews. If at least 80% of the reviews are in the 4 and 5 star range, I tend to feel pretty confident. (Sorry for the extra commentary about ratings rather than the product itself.) I would buy this product again at the price I paid for it. It does have a few downsides but I think that for the price point it is an excellent value. Heres the reasons why: --> it has a decent set of drivers which give it great sound quality, making it great for music and game audio --> noise cancelling mic (cuts out all the white noise and garbage sound) --> its has integrated Dolby Pro Logic, which simulates 5.1 and 7.1 surround from a standard stereo (2 speaker) stream --> its comfy, with decent padding on the ear cups and head band you can wear it for hours --> the cup design helps to reduce outside noise (my GF has snuck up on me more than a couple of times while I wore these) --> it is very affordable as gaming headsets go (just over $40 after tax and shipping) However there are a few downsides: --> the adapter is USB and not the standard 3.5mm, which means you cannot use it on any consoles or (most) other devices; only computers. --> the ear cups tend to swivel around a lot (especially if you move your head a lot) --> the head band doesnt always stay put (again only if youre moving your head a lot) In general the features outweigh the downsides and for the price you cant beat it. Mic is clear and crisp and is definitely leagues better than any built in laptop mic and the price alone is worth it for that. The headphones themselves are great, and very loud. They do sometimes get uncomfortable if you wear them for too long, which is absolutely a problem if youre going to be playing games for extended durations, and if youre buying these youre probably in that crowd. They look and feel great, and I usually dont say that about gamer gear because the designs of these peripherals are usually very much not subtle at all, but even though the red definitely makes it clear this is branded towards gamers, its not the kind of ridiculous neon you might see on other headsets, which is a plus for me personally. Overall though the price alone makes this worthwhile, and my experience with them has been great, albeit they might be fatiguing to wear after a certain point. Por Manuel M. em 2 de novembro de 2017 - Publicada na Amazon.com Compra verificada Ok, so the main issue with this particular headset is its construction... the sound is good (not as good as i expected but that was my fault for letting the brand name influence my purchase) but the headset itself is poorly constructed... out from the box the 3.5 to 2.5 mm jack adapter was defective, you have to wiggle it so you can get audio on both sides, one week in using it started loosing sound on the right side and you had to wiggle it around so it would start working on both sides but soon after it would go mute on the right side again... when inspected, the volume control on the cable had the wires badly soldered so they where just coming loose, after fixxing it twice, i just cutted out the volume control and just entangled the wires together and, after that, while fixxing the heaset on my head one of the cups snapped... when i checked to see if i could glue it together, to my surprise, i found that all that held it together was a flimsy plastic stick... this headset is not worthy of the brand or the price, avoid. That is dissapointing because I was looking for an upgrade when my last headset (plantronics) did the same thing, after a year and a half. UPDATE: Yeah so I paid $15 in 5 day shipping it to corsair for a replacement. I was very satisfied with the customer service (all online so I didnt have to talk to anyone) and they got shipped it back to me in a day...but also using 5 day shipping. After 2 weeks I finally had gotten it back and they had ended up sending a new set. I was very happy cause I liked the sound and feel the only problem was the failure. It has since been a month and a half later and now it has broken again because of the wire. Last time it disconnected at the ear piece but this time it was at the volume control. Because it lasted the about the same amount of time and the same way I have concluded that the headset is not making sure the wires dont break away. Either way I am not paying the minimum of $15 for shipping it again, making the total payed for this headset $90. Prior to that I was an MX510/MX518 user. So this is my first time delving into Zowie products. I did so under the recommendations from MANY people Ive gamed with competitively. Teammates, etc. Ill go into my thoughts now and give a rundown at the end. Coming from a deathadder that I always felt was just a little too big, the EC2-A fits my hand perfectly. I have a 17.5cm hand from the base of my palm to the tip of my middle finger, so pretty small. With that said, theres a few mm clearance from the tip of my index and middle finger to the edge of the mouse buttons. I use a palm/claw hybrid grip. The coating on this mouse is excellent. It feels almost like satin in your hand. Very smooth with just a hint of texture. Its VERY grippy once your hands get a little damp from sweat but can feel slippery if you have very dry hands. For me this isnt really an issue since within about 5 minutes of gaming my hand starts to perspire a bit. The mouse is weighted perfectly at around 80-85g.. not too light, and not too heavy. The shape is very comfortable in the hand. The EC shape is the PERFECT shape for accommodating ANY style of grip whether it be palm, claw, fingertip or a hybrid. Next: The sensor. From all the testing Ive done, the 3310 implentation is flawless in the EC2-A. The Pixart 3310 sensor is well regarded in the peripheral community as being an excellent sensor, only being edged out by Logitechs exclusive Pixart 3366 in both the G502 and G303. However, the 3310 is more than capable of giving you rock solid results. There is zero NOTICEABLE acceleration in this mouse. The reason I say noticeable is that there is acceleration in every sensor except the 3366, but its only able to be produced under a perfect/specific scenario. Regardless, its not enough to feel it. Its a small enough effect to still consider this mouse PERFECT in terms of tracking accuracy. The 3310 has a PCS(basically the max speed in which it will track) of OVER 5 m/s.. and in any normal gaming situation(no matter how intense), no normal human will reach those speeds during fast swipes. This mouse has some of the lowest lift off distance Ive ever experienced, and the good thing about the 3310 is that it allows you to change LOD settings without having to use a special lens for the sensor(which zowie used to do). Low LOD is a must for any competitive gamer, especially those that play with low sensitivity on games like CS:GO. The LOD out of the box is less 2mm. A little more than 1 cd width. I find this to be the perfect setting but you can set the mouse based on the type of mouse mad you use, whether soft or hard. There is zero cursor smoothing with this mouses 3310...and it feels very raw in desktop and in game. Its the first mouse Ive used that truly feels like Im getting 1:1 hand to cursor movement. Theres a reason Zowie chose this sensor. Construction: The mouse feels very durable. Its light, but it feels very well made. There is zero rattle. Zero noises when I squeeze the shell. The shell does not flex or give when you exert excess pressure on it. Switches: Here is one area I thought about taking a star away for. The side buttons. Which I will get to. The main buttons use Huano blue switches. Now, before you get on the Omron bandwagon, the Huanos function just as well, and will last just as long. The ONLY difference is the huanos are a bit stiffer as far as actuation goes. Huanos provide even more tactile feedback, and a louder click when pressed over omrons...but the main difference is the actuation force required. I have small hands and they do not fatigue me at all, no matter how much I spam. I in fact love these switches. You will NEVER get a mis-click with this mouse, and these main button switches. They are a good middle-ground switch. Now, the side buttons on this mouse can definitely be improved on by zowie. The reason I didnt take a star away is because they function perfectly and are shaped nicely, and put in a perfect location relative to where your thumb is placed such that you can easily roll your thumb upwards to depress them without changing your grip on the mouse. The problem is they are mushy and have some pre-travel to them before they actuation and coming from a mouse like the Deathadder which I feel has the best side buttons on the market..it took some getting used to. Zowie needs to change up how they implement them to make them not have this amount of pre-travel. However, with that said... the pre-travel on these switches make it almost impossible to mis-click them since youd know you were about to press the switch before it ever actuates. I have never misclicked a side button on this mouse. I did it ALL THE TIME with the the deathadder. Both the 4G and 3G versions. This is my only complaint with the mouse. Other information: The DPI steps on this mouse are 400/800/1600/3200 and for hardcore gaming, this is all that is needed. If you come from a mouse that allows you to change your dpi to more selections, it shouldnt take long to get used to unless you used a uselessly high DPI like 5000 or above, which no one needs even if you play on triple screens, or 4k monitors. You simply do not need that high of a DPI, and truth be told every sensor on the market performs BETTER at lower dpi settings because it wont have to rely on interpolation. Zowie is one of the only manufacturers on the market not involving itself in the "DPI RACE" that every other company out there hypes & markets on their mice. They give pro players what they ask for, and that is a simple plug & play mouse that doesnt rely on drivers, or shove software down your throat in order to use the mouse. You can change your polling rate and lift off distance, basic quality of life changes. Other than that, the mice is set up optimally for EVERYONE right out of the box, the only exception being your lift off distance settings, which for hard pad users you will have to change when plugging the mouse in by depressing and holding the specified button for the particular setting you want. This mouse just works. And it performs well beyond expectation. In summary: If youre a hardcore gamer, especially an FPS gamer looking for a no-nonsense mouse, if your main concern is EXCELLENT tracking, and having zero acceleration, prediction or angle snapping.. this is the mouse for you. If you want a LAN READY mouse that is plug & play with the essential dpi steps.. this is the mouse for you. Zowie hit it out of the park with this mouse. If youre a CS player, well.. HeatoN designed the EC shape, and zowie took that shape and put one of the best sensors available in it... and fixed the main issues such as the button click latency, and scroll wheel. I strongly believe this is one of the best competitive gaming mice on the market today. I use a claw/fingertip grip and found I could never quite get comfortable with it. If the width of the back part came in a little bit, especially on the right side, I would have kept it. Thats just personal preference though and no fault in the mouse itself. I removed one star because the side buttons are extremely bad. They press in way too far before they actuate and they feel very flimsy like they could break at any time. Also the one I bought had a defect with the sensor where it would sometimes continue to drift in the last direction I moved it even though I stopped moving the mouse. Whit that said, i must state that i am very satisfied with this mouse. Previously I was usig a generic small laptop mouse, so i got accustomed to smaller mice. i was fearing that the adaptation to this new product would be long and "painfull", however, for being a full size mouse the taipan is quite ligth weight. It is also a very sober alternative to the more flashy products designed for gamers (which i dont like): you can deactivate the razer logo back-light and it becomes a very subtle detail barely seeable in the mouse, so you can go to your office or laboratory and pretend to be a serious person. Considering my small mouse background i use a claw like grip, which is perfect for this mouse. Currently I dont use the side buttons, but they are prerfectly accesible (more on the thumb side) so i will certainly try to get some usefull functions linked to then trough the synapse program. overall 10/10 will buy more razer products in the future. The first mouse I got from them, a Copperhead, lasted until a couple months ago (almost 10 years of active gaming), and its only the left click button which isnt responding (so still fixable). This one in particular, the Taipan, is no different than Copperhead, as in its an awesome piece of hardware! Very comfortable to use, light, ergonomic, a smooth texture/feel, high pointer precision, I have nothing bad to say about it. I kind of like the fact that this mouse is wired so I dont have to worry about charging batteries and the cord is as long as needed, I actually never took the twist tie off of the extra cord and have an ample amount. The cord is not your typical rubbery electronic cord like your phone charger, it is like woven with some sort of cotton like cover and its very flexible so you dont have to deal with it being kinked or making it awkward to push the mouse around. I really like this mouse and it is very responsive and seems to be very smooth. I really like the fact that the scroll wheel and the logo on the mouse glow, it makes it easy to see in the dark and it looks really cool. The side buttons by default are programmed to go back and forward on webpages which is pretty cool. Overall I think this is a great mouse and would recommend it to a friend. Prior to having this mouse, I just used a standard Logitech wireless laptop mouse. It was on its last legs after some abuse though, so after doing some research I settled upon the Razer Taipan as something I wanted to try out. Pros: -Beautiful looking mouse. I got the white color scheme one and it is definitely pretty to look at. Also matches my white/black PC tower. -Comfortable to hold, although it is definitely for smaller hands like other reviewers have said (the reason I bought it, Ive got some baby hands). The rubber grips on either side underneath the side buttons make a super good thumb rest. I use kind of a claw grip, but it seems like it would be okay palm as well. Havent noticed any hand fatigue so far, including game sessions of 8+ hours. -The tracking on the mouse seems to be relatively top notch from my experience. Granted, I did just move from a $20 dollar wireless mouse, so there was bound to be improvement. -The adjustable DPI is a pretty nice feature, although the maximum this mouse allows (8200) is laughably unnecessary. After a couple days of experimenting playing various games, I got mine honed in at 2000, where it has been ever since. -Ludicrous initial setup aside, Razer Synapse hasnt given me any problems yet! (EDIT: jk lolz) Cons: -I have had a few severe tracking issues. The reason though, it would seem, is because the sensor is incredibly, incredibly sensitive to any interference. The first couple days after owning it, I noticed occasionally the tracking would just kind of seize up and start doing circles instead of straight lines. As far as I can tell, each time it has been from tiny specks of hair or fuzz getting in the path of the sensor. This is with a brand new, spotless mouse pad too. It is definitely frustrating when it happens, since the rest of the time it tracks excellently. -The glossy plastics making up the mouse are fairly slick, including the main left/right buttons. I havent really noticed it that badly when gaming, but they definitely seem like they would get bad quick if youve got some sweaty hands. -Occasionally upon starting a game, it seems like the mouse gets stuck at a sensitivity double of what it should actually be set at. It basically makes any games unplayable until I restart my computer (simply restarting the game, restarting Razer Synapse, or unplugging the mouse hasnt had any success). I have no idea what the source of this problem is, but Im going to go ahead and blame Razer Synapse because I have absolutely no idea what else it could be. All in all, after researching for something lightweight, good for smaller hands, and possessing the right amount of secondary buttons, I feel like I made the right decision, and am definitely happy with my purchase. The instructions call for downloading the controller software, but that is for Windows only (once you find it on the site) and I have a Mac. I downloaded some Mac software but it kept quitting unexpectedly. At one point I was convinced that I needed to buy additional controller hardware. After I started downloading a Windows VM image so that I could then download the controller software, another reviewer (thank you) pointed out that the controller software only discovers the IP address and all configuration is done through the web at the access point IP address. That grossly simplified things for me. I queried my DHCP server for the devices IP address (the only TP-Link device in the list of clients), logged in using the default credentials (which required searching the web), and I was off to the races. Once I realized that the instructions created more problems than solutions, all was well. This is a 5-star product if they would exclude the configuration instructions. I am docking it one star for the misleading instructions. My existing router/AP is on one side of a large house, creating dead zones on the other floors at the opposite end of the house. I installed this AP on the side of a bookshelf in my home office at the opposite end of the house, and now my home is flooded with 2.4GHz and 5GHz of WiFi goodness. In fact, my cell phone prefers this signal over the (already very good) existing router/AP signal in every room except where the existing router/AP is located. If you have dead zones where an ethernet port is located, buy this, plug it in, mount it, then throw away the instructions. You will be happy with the purchase. Log into your router and view network devices (or dhcp history) to find its IP, then connect to that ip in your browser. The AP uses dhcp by default, so you should be able to find its address easily. After connecting to the web UI, it will ask for a password (default was admin:admin I think). I bought this for residential use, to extend wifi to the back rooms of the house. Dissapointed with residential routers and extenders by Netgear and Asus that would drop out or crash periodically, I turned to this. I already had ethernet run through the closets and walls, so this was a good fit, as I could just punch through the wall to mount it up high, and power it with POE. This is a commercial grade product. It supports 99 wireless clients. It does not need to be restarted or fooled with once set up, as it is designed for 24/7 load. The web interface is clean and simple to allow managing the AP. You do not need to use their EAP software. SSH is supported as well. The unit does not do routing, NAT, etc. Use a router/gateway for that. VLAN and management VLAN is supported. Portal is also suppoted, which allows you to give tokens out to users for temporary access (like giving patrons in a restaraunt wifi for 1 hour). You can disable the front LED status light (default green when on). The ethernet port does not flash. 2.4 and 5 gig bands have excellent range when mounted up high. Devices with line of sight get 800+ mbps connections over AC. Dumb devices (pcs, phones, android TV) that have both 2.4ghz and 5ghz will be automatically connected to the 5ghz band if signal strength is good, which is a nice feature to clean up wifi congestion. Been using this for some months without issue, so I purchased a second, to replace an existing ap and extend coverage. They never bog down or need to be restarted. I have worked with many of the higher end APs (I used to be a wireless engineer & RF designer), and this unit blew my socks off on how well it worked and the features vs. cost. (One note - if you are using this with a VPN, you may need to lower frame sizes at your router. If your VPN crashes your DSL, you will need to look at that. I had that issue and reduced frame size at the router and fixed it). This unit can do everything from SNMP, VLANs, fencing (guest networks), multi-band (I use both, and they work fine), full MAC filtering and ACLs, and it even has management software! It can do variable channel width, auto channel, adjustable Tx power, and can load balance with other TP-Link APs to make sure 1 AP does not have too many clients on it. It can also perform QoS traffic prioritization and rogue AP detection. My only negative is that the connections are on the outside of the unit, so you may not want to have it where someone can mess with it (like kids in schools, etc). It even has ceiling grid mounting, so I would not hesitate to deploy this at a small office. Performance has been very good, and it just runs and runs. Never need to reboot it or anything. Get the PoE injector to mount it anywhere. In my opinion, this unit really comes close to matching up with units costing many times more than this one.
